Friday came about in the blink of an eye. Cat had been rehearsing with Jade whenever they had the chance and they were completely ready. The redhead still hadn't told Jade about her feelings, she just didn't want to complicate anything.

The time was 5:00 and Cat was sitting the kitchen with her parents. They were wishing her luck for tonight and hoped she has a good time. Cat loved her parents, they did everything they could to give her a good life but they were stressed a lot because of her brother. This led to them fighting a lot but they also made up in the end as they did, ultimately, still love each other.

The doorbell rang and Cat looked over at the door. "Ding dong." She said.

"I'll get it." Cat's dad said as he walked over to the door and opened it.
"Oh hello Jade." Cat heard him say and the small redhead felt excitement flow through her as she jumped off her chair and ran over to the door.

"Hello Mr Valentine." Jade said respectfully. She always made a point to not make Cat's parents dislike her and Jade had never wanted to risk losing Cat as a friend.

"Jade!!" Cat said excitedly and Jade gave a small smile.
Cat's dad went back to the kitchen, ruffling his daughters hair as he went.

"What're you doing here?" Cat asked. "I thought we were gonna meet as Karioke dokie."

"Well I thought a couple more rehearsals couldn't hurt." Jade lied. In truth she had just had yet another fight with her mother about her 'life choices' and just wanted to spend some time with Cat before the competition.

"Well let's get to it then!" Cat said happily, not picking up on the fake reasoning.

A couple hours later

"It's the same old story, but you never get it right
Give it up, oh, yeah"
Jade and Cat sung the last line and the two panted heavily, feeling each other's breaths on their skin.
They had run through a couple of times but had spent most of the time messing about.

They got the choreography down, it was much more up close and personal than their first time but they both preferred it.

"That was a good one." Cat said happily, not moving away.

"You sounded amazing as always." Jade complimented which made Cat feel warm inside.

The two looked into each other's eyes and glanced at each other's lips quickly. Jade placed her hands on Cat's hips as they slowly began to lean in close, their lips inches apart as Jade brushed Cat's hair behind her ear opening her mouth in anticipation while Cat put her hand on Jade's hip and slightly opened her mouth in the same anticipation.

Just then they heard a knock on the door which made them jump. Cat yelped in surprise and leapt away from Jade, who looked away in embarrassment.

"Cat?" A male voice on the other side called through the closed door.

"Come in." Cat responded and her dad opened the door.

"I just wanted to let you know that it's 7:00 so you might want to head out soon." Her dad said kindly.

"Thanks dad." Cat responded.

"Thanks Mr Valentine." Jade added.

"You sounded great girls." He smiled as he closed the door.

Jade and Cat stood in awkward silence. What were they supposed to say? Their minds were racing with emotions.

"Oh my god me and Jade almost kissed! Why did my dad have to come in right then?" Cat thought to herself.
