1 week later
It was audition day and the atmosphere in the school was that of excitement. The students were impatiently waiting in Sikowitz's classroom, eager for the bell to ring for them to go to the auditions.
"Now class I know many of you are excited for the auditions." The balding teacher said.
This earned a few cheers.
"Now I want you all to do your best and show everything you have to offer."

With these words of encouragement, the bell rang causing the students to excitedly leave the class in a rush. Leading the herd was Tori, who was sprinting too the audition room. After the events of last week with Beck, Tori had desperately thrown herself into preparing for the auditions. It helped keep her focus, to stop her spiralling. If she could just nail this audition, just keep herself distracted, everything would be alright.

Tori might as well have crashed through the door to the black box theatre. The judges look over at her in surprise.
"Ah our first interviewee is here!" Helen said with a smile.

Tori gave a smile and looked to see who the judges were. Helen and Lane were there which made sense to Tori. More surprisingly was V and B, but Tori supposed they had done some judge work before. The most shocking however, was Hollywood arts' past principle, Eikner as well as Mason Thornesmith. While Tori was processing the judges, the final judge, Sikowitz walked through the door.
"Ah Tori." The acting teacher said.
"Are you ready for the audition?"

Tori shook her head to refocus and made her way to the stage, feeling some nerves bubble beneath her but she took a deep breath and readied herself.

"So, what will you singing for us Miss Vega?" V asked the girl.

"I'll be singing my original song Make it in America." Tori answered.

"Okay, what segment of the song will you be singing." Eikner asked the girl.

"I'll do up to the first chorus." Tori answered.

"Whenever you're ready." B said.
"Take it away."

Tori took a deep breath before nodding towards Sinjin, who was working stage tech. The beat started as Tori prepared herself to sing.
"Got a one-way ticket down a two-way street
Got the wind in my hair and there's dust on my feet"

As Tori sang the first lyrics, her nerves disappeared as her love of singing took over.
"I'm just tryin' to make it in America
Only thing to my name is an old t-shirt."

Before Hollywood arts Tori's life had felt more empty. She had friends at her old school sure, but none that she was close with and her ambitions were almost nonexistent. She'd never dared think she'd ever get the change to make it big but now it felt like she could actually achieve something great.
"Faded 1985 from a Stones' concert
And I'm dyin' to make it in America."

Tori had always enjoyed singing, and she'd always thought she had a talent for it. But before coming to Hollywood arts she never felt like she had the confidence to sing on stage in front of people. It's the one thing she unironically, genuinely admirers in her sister. Trina may be deluded in her talent but she has more confidence than even some professionals.
"And I'm singin' the words to my favorite song
With the rag top down and my glasses on
And I'm drivin' straight through America."

But whenever Tori was on stage, she had all the confidence she needed.
"I wanna taste the sun
'Cause, baby, I'm born to run."

Sure, there'd been a few hiccups along the way. Like Mason trying to change Tori's public image, or a dog dragging Tori around on live tv.
"I got a feelin' that I'm not the only one
I, I wanna show some skin."
