The next day

It was a bleak atmosphere inside Hollywood arts. News had spread fast that Robbie was the cause of the fire, and the fact that he was now in court mandated therapy. Cat and Jade's breakup was also a hot topic of conversation but what was on everyone's tongue was Tori's attempted robbery of Cat's place as lead singer for the showcase. Tori had been desperately trying to ignore the judgmental glances being shot at her from her fellow students.

Tori felt relief wash over her as she spotted Beck by his locker. As she made his way over to him she saw that he was on the phone and had a grave expression on his face. As Tori got closer she caught the end of the conversation.
"Okay man, make sure you take care of yourself all right. I'll see you soon."

"That was Andre." Beck said as he turned to Tori, having noticed her approach.

"Oh how is he?" Tori asked, a little surprised Andre hadn't called her but she supposed he'd known Beck a lot longer. And Beck hadn't disappointed him like Tori had.

"He's taking a few days off." Beck explained.
"He says he's fine but I'm worried he's gonna blame himself."

"We'll have to keep an eye on him." Tori said and Beck nodded.

"Have you spoken to Cat?" He asked to which Tori shook her head.

"Can't get a hold of her." She answered. Cat had been dodging Tori's attempts to contact her since yesterday. Tori was worried about the girl, she'd just broken up with her best friend turned girlfriend, her other closest friend has been taken into intense therapy and Tori had tried to take her spot in the showcase.
"Will you make sure she's alright?" Tori asked Beck and he agreed.
Tori sighed.
"Everything kind of feels like it's falling apart doesn't it?"

Beck remained silent but it looked like he wanted to speak. Like he had something eating away at him.
"Beck is something wrong?" Tori asked.

Beck sighed heavily.
"I've been thinking Tori...everything's all over the place right now, we have so much we're gonna need to work through."

"What's your point?" Tori asked.

"My point is." Beck responded.
"Maybe we should...put a pause on starting our relationship. We've not even been dating a whole day yet and everything is so up in the air right now that maybe we should just focus on getting our lives back together before trying to start a whole new relationship."

The words pained to hear. Tori felt her heart cry out in pain at the boys words but it was clear from his expression that this hurt Beck just as much to say. And the most hurtful thing was that it made sense. A relationship is like a building, the start of it is the foundations. If they built their relationship on shaky ground then the whole thing would crumble.

Tori fought back the pain as she gave an understanding smile.
"You're right." She said.
"As soon as everything is back to some kind of normal we'll try again."

Beck gave Tori a soft kiss on her cheek.
"I'll talk to you later okay." And with that the boy walked away as Tori wondering if this was just another thing she'd ruined.

2 weeks later

Tori still hadn't been able to get in contact with Cat. She'd been absent from school ever since the breakup. Beck had been reporting in since he was the only one she'd been in contact with. She was safe but Beck was worried she'd fallen into a bit of depression. Something Tori had been able to do is find V and talk to him.
"I'm sorry I snapped at you like that." V said to the girl.
"I lashed out at you and that wasn't fair."

"I deserved it." Tori responded.
"I was acting like an entitled brat."

"I heard that you and Mr Oliver decided to put things in pause." V said as Tori nodded.
