Grace
"So Harry, are you a big Hozier fan?" I ask, taking a sip from the beer bottle in front of me.
We got back to Dublin quickly from the field but all decided to take showers at the hotel before we went out to get dinner. Even though we were on that sheet, god knows what disgustingness was on that grass. I'm sure we were laying in sheep shit and piss.
His eyebrows raise in acknowledgment as he finishes taking his own sip of beer. He puts the bottle down, gulping down whatever was in his mouth. He shrugs his shoulders as he rubs his fingers quickly against his chin.
"Um, yeah. He has good music. I learned Cherry Wine on the guitar a while ago, but he's Irish so I figured that would be nice to play while we're in Ireland. I didn't want to play one of my songs, that would feel a bit weird." He smiles as he explains
My head nods slightly, focusing on his words. "Oh yeah I forgot he was Irish. And that's a fantastic song. You're very talented." I compliment.
It's a bit weird to be sitting here, talking to him now that I've somewhat accepted I have feelings for him. Just this morning he was just Harry, one of my close friends. Now he's more than that, but those thoughts have to be pushed from my brain.
He's still the same guy he was this morning. But am I the same girl I was this morning?
"Harry, how fast can you chug a beer?" Elias asks, cutting through my thoughts.
Thank god he and Holly are here, because if it was just Harry and me on this vacation, I wouldn't be able to hold my tongue.
Harry furrows his brow, looking at Elias as he rolls his bottom lip between his fingers. "I'm not sure. I can't remember the last time I chugged a beer honestly."
A smile creeps across my face, knowing what's coming next. Holly and I exchange a glance before my hand goes up to call our waitress over. She catches my eye, coming over to the table we're sitting at in the back.
"Can we please get two pints of beer and two glasses of water?" I order with a kind smile. Our waitress has been so sweet this entire time.
Harry is watching with a wary eye, unsure what's happening. He must have some idea though.
"Here's how this is gonna work. We each have a pint. Grace is gonna keep time, Holly is gonna watch us to take notes of spills. Whoever finishes the fastest with the least amount of spills is the winner." Elias explains as we wait for the beers.
Harry's lips curve into a smile as he listens intently to Elias, "What does the winner get?" he asks, interested.
"Winner gets to sleep on the bed." Elias bets. Elias slept on the bed last night and Harry slept on the couch, but Harry's been bugging him all day to switch for the night.
Harry stretched his hand over the table to Eli, "It's a bet." he agrees.
The two men shake hands, agreeing on the bet. This should be interesting.
Holly smiles, "I think Harry's gonna win!" She's sitting next to him so she wraps her arm around his shoulder, patting his back.
"Well when Eli wins we'll try not to rub it in too much." I joke, wrapping my arm around my brother.
Harry gets a playful, offended look on his face, his jaw falling open as I pick my brother over him. "Grace! I thought we were best friends!" He gasps out.
My shoulders shrug and my eyebrows raise, giving a smile, "Sorry man, he's my brother."
He shakes his head, pursing his lips together, "That's not right."
