It was weird having Harry give us a tour of London. He brought us to see some of the things we couldn't walk to, so pretty much most of London, and explained the history behind pretty much everything. It was really funny too actually, because he would give some dumb facts about random things, like lampposts and crosswalks. I would have never guessed he was such a comedian.
We've all really warmed up to Harry over the last few hours. Holly got over her shell shock that we were hanging out with a celebrity and was able to talk to him like an actual person. Even Elias got over his initial reservations about Harry and they've become pretty much best friends. The car talk definitely opened doors for that friendship to blossom. Harry's just really blended in nicely with all of us. It's like we've all been friends forever.
Harry pulls up to the restaurant, lowering his window to talk to the valet. Of course he would pick a place with a valet. Elias, Holly and I all agreed over text not to go crazy with ordering things for dinner. We all really like Harry and don't want him to feel like we're taking advantage of his fame and wealth, especially after he was so nice today.
Upon first glance, the restaurant doesn't look too fancy. It looks like some sort of steakhouse, but a more moderately priced one. I'm sure if we didn't make it clear that he didn't have to buy us dinner, he would have gone to a super fancy one. This one is perfectly fine though and we won't look too out of place in our clothes.
We all get out of the car, Harry offering his hand to me for leverage as I get out. I take it and smile a bit at him, getting onto the sidewalk. Our hands separate quickly though and we both look away from each other awkwardly. His hand is soft.
He tosses the keys to the valet and leads us into the restaurant.
We get a table and sit down. I make sure to get a seat across from Harry this time since I want to be able to look at him. Elias sits next to Harry, which isn't surprising because they've been attached at the hip since Tower Bridge. I've never seen Elias become friends with someone so quickly. He's always been super introverted when it comes to making friends.
"Don't forget guys, dinner is on me tonight. Order whatever you want." Harry tells us as we start to look at the menu.
"We really could pay half you know." I try one more time to get him to agree to splitting the bill.
He just smiles and raises his eyebrows at me. "I'm paying for dinner. And I'll know if you're all ordering cheap things on purpose." he warns with a joking tone.
I just smile back and look down in my menu. The prices are reasonable for a steakhouse, still pretty high but not to the point where I'd only want a salad. I could actually eat a nice dinner and not feel bad about it.
"What is your favorite type of wine?" Harry asks as he looks at his menu.
"I'm good with any wine but if we're talking about what goes with steak, I would say a Cabernet Sauvignon." Holly responds, looking over at him.
I nod in agreement. "Yeah, I'd say that's mine too."
"And Elias? Are you a wine person or would you like more of a whiskey?" he asks.
Eli takes a second to think. "You know, a whiskey sounds nice."
Harry nods, looking back at his menu. Just by the concentrated look on his face I could tell that he's going to go crazy spending on dinner. He looks up when the waiter comes to take our drink orders.
"Yes, we would like a bottle of your finest Cabernet Sauvignon and this whiskey." he says, pointing to the name so we won't see and know the price. It must be expensive. "I'd like mine neat and Elias, how would you like yours?" he asks.
