I felt my hair being slowly brushed off the skin of my cheek, my eyes knitted shut as the warm light of the sunrise poured into the room.
Letting my eyes flutter open I was met with a weary-looking Alex, hair disheveled and tousled slightly, his eyes wide open though as he was leant up on one elbow gazing down at me.
"Sorry, ahem, yer hair was going up yer nostril um.." He mumbled and tucked his hand back under the duvet, I huffed a short laugh and brought my hands up to my face, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes as I stretched and let out a loud yawn whilst pushing myself to sit upright.
"Tea? Coffee?" I turned my head to the side to glance over at Alex, I took in his morning image for a moment, his hair looked darker in the mornings and soft, I wondered what it would be like to run my fingers through it and feel how it felt without rakes of product in.
"Mm, coffee please love." Alex hummed, slumping back down onto his pillow and rolling onto his side.
I ripped back the covers off of myself and slivered out the bed, slipping on my sliders and shuffling through to the kitchen; I flicked the kettle on and grabbed the pot of coffee from the cabinet by the sink, setting that onto the counter alongside two cups, milk and a spoon.
Whilst I waited for the kettle to boil I headed into the spare room and grabbed a couple towels for Alex to shower, placing them onto the tank in the airing cupboard so they'd be nice and warm for him afterwards.
As I re-entered the bedroom Alex was now sat upright in my bed, with my grey sweatshirt hugging his upper half perfectly as he sat there waiting for his drink like a little boy. His eyes followed me as I moved round to him and placed his mug onto the bedside table.
"Thank you." He smiled, reaching over and taking it in his hands as I hopped back into bed and sat up beside him.
"I put you a few towels in the airing cupboard if you want to have a shower in a bit." I lifted the warm ceramic to my lips and seethed my teeth as it burnt my tongue, Alex laughed lightly and shook his head watching me.
"Thank you again." He chuckled.
"When do you have to go back to London?" I asked him.
"Not sure yet, I can't be here long cos I kind of didn't bring anything with me..." My head snapped over to him as he scratched his neck with his free hand and grimaced.
"Oh Alex." I groaned, Alex mouthed a "sorry"
"Looks like you're borrowing skirts of mine then." I joked, Alex's eyes popped out his head causing me to giggle as I reached over to my bedside cabinet and grabbed the TV remote.
I put on some random Countryside show just so we could have a little background noise. I always enjoyed having some faint noise in the background whenever I was in a conversation with someone, only because if the two of you were to fall into a short moment of silence it wouldn't ever be awkward as the sounds of whatever on the TV would fill that silence.
"When do you head back to work?" I choked on my coffee as if his words sent alarm bells ringing in my head causing me to jolt and wake up like from some sort of nightmare.
"Shit! I told them I'd start today." I gasped, placing my coffee onto the beside table and pulling myself quickly out of bed, as much as I wanted to stay there beside him for some reason, I always wanted to be near him..
"Oh bullocks right okay." Alex mumbled, just as scared from my chaotic behaviour as I was to be honest, he shuffled out of bed himself and kept his distance as I bounded around the house grabbing things whilst I placed rollers into my hair.
