It was now the end of March, the guys were heading over to France tomorrow and I couldn't have been more excited to see them all.
I was curled up on my bedroom window-sill seat with a small canvas on my lap, just swirling a paintbrush over the blankness to fill it in so it didn't look so sad.
The rattling at my door startled me, and a tiny hope that Al had come home early spiked inside me but I brushed that away knowing it was most likely someone else.
I sauntered through the hallway toward the front door, gripping onto the handle and tugging it open I was met with a dark brown bob of hair.
"Breana?" I squealed and leapt onto her, she threw her head back in laughter and clung tightly onto me. The whacking at my hip caused me to pull back and look down, little Amelia was beaming up at me by Bre's side.
"Hello you little munchkin." I grinned as I lifted Amelia up under her arms and held her against me, her legs wrapped around my torso as I supported her under the back of her legs.
"Matthew doesn't know we're here, but I booked time off work and thought it'd be a nice little holiday for 'Mils to come with me." Breana threw an arm over my shoulder as we headed inside.
"Aunty El.." Amelia called, I gently dropped her back down as I turned to lock up the front door, "Yes bubba." I retorted to the small brunette, "Can I play in your room please?" Amelia gazed up at me with those adorable puppy eyes I couldn't say no to.
"Of course Mil, just be careful and don't break anything, scream if you need us." I ruffled the top of her head as the girl squealed and bounded off down the hall.
Breana and I made a coffee and headed into the living room, "I read your book." She hummed as she brought the warm ceramic to her lips. I raised my brows waiting for a response.
"It was magnificent, you truly have a way with words and it was honestly so captivating, thank you for putting me in your acknowledgments pages, I cried." She laughed and leant forward to place her mug onto the coffee table in front of us.
I ran a hand through my hair to untangle to odd knot, joining in on her short laughter. "Obviously I'm going to have added you in, without any of you I wouldn't be where I am today." I nudged her foot with my own.
"It was amazing, you should be so proud of yourself." Breana smiled softly, I gazed down into my coffee and faintly saw the vividness of my reflection rippling around on the chestnut brown beverage.
