Rain sort of sets the mood

My hands clasped around the warm mug sat on the table before me, eyes scanning outside the window as I watched the rain trickle down from the sky, we were predicted a storm tonight, much to my contempt as ever since I was a little girl rain and storms always satisfied me.

The bell dinging to signify the door opening pulled me from my thoughts, my head turning over my shoulder to see my blonde bestfriend bounding over to me, shouting her order to Liz the barista we knew very well as we'd been coming in here ever since we met eachother in college, that was obviously until pubs soon became our favourite thing too.

I noticed that Lu had her hair done recently and now was a darker blonde colour with brighter highlights around the ends, it suited her so well. "New hair?" I asked her loudly, she nodded with a small grin.

"And you've got that look in your eyes because?" Luna pulled out the seat in front of me and thinned her eyes, a light scoff left my parted lips as I shook my head with a small grin to the reason why I had recently been looking like a giddy schoolgirl.

"No reason." I shrugged with a smirk, Luna lifted a brow at my 'odd behaviour' I personally wanted to tell her the real reason over a pint at the bar but Luna insisted on coffee as she had work this evening; "If you don't tell me El I will not hesitate to tip this coffee over your head." Luna warned jokingly, "Okay okay, but promise me you won't hit me, scream...or hit him..." I retorted carefully, Luna furrowed her brows tight together.

"Alex and I..." I started, watching as her ears perked up and she straightened herself in her seat more, "We're together." I then said, pressing my lips together afterwards as I watched Luna visibly process what I just said. Her coffee had recently been brought over by Liz to which Lu had immediately brought to her lips and sipped the hot liquid carefully.

She eyed me slowly before setting her drink down and inhaling a lengthy breath, "So like, together together? or Shagging-together?" Luna asked me, tilting her head to the side slightly like a confused puppy.

"Aren't both the same?" I retorted dumbfounded, "No nitwit, one is like you're a couple, the other is that you're shag-buddies." Luna shook her head as if I was supposed to understand the Luna dictionary although we've been best friends for years.

"No, we're a couple." I stated, linking my hands together and resting them on the cold table in front of us, "So...you forgave him...for that girl?" Luna asked me slowly, "Well you were right, he was exploring his options, then he came to his senses." I shrugged, Luna tapped her fingertips against her chin as the corners of her mouth tugged upwards into a small smile.

"And you're happy?" She asked me softly, my eyes flickered up to meet hers, mind flittering through all the moments between Al and I that led up to the constant bubbly state of mind I was in currently.

"Happiest i've ever been..." I said, Lu reached over the table and grabbed my hands, squeezing them tightly as she let out an excited squeal and burst her emotions and happiness all onto me, warning me about being careful with Alex and always coming to her if I ever needed to and that him and I always needed to ensure that we were safe during sex which caused me to roll my eyes while luna erupted into laughter.

After my morning with lu the weather had decided to piss it down as soon as I walked home, meaning I was absolutely drenched by the time I reached my flat. My favourite thing would always be changing into sweats, hair up in a messy bun and curled up in bed whilst reading and listening to the rain pattering against the window panes outside; this afternoon was different though as I had decided to take a seat on the thick ledge of my window sill-seat that had built in cushioning on.
