"I'm home!" I shouted, kicking the front door shut with the heel of my foot before juggling the multiple shopping bags in my arms and attempting to steady them.

"In here!" Alex's voice echoed out, I furrowed my brows as it seemed to have come from upstairs and downstairs at the same time.

"Where's here?" I called back, placing the bags onto the island counter and shuffling out to the hallway.

"Living room!" Alex retorted loudly.

I swung myself round the doorway and headed down the long kitchen toward the living room, pulling the door open I was met with Alex stood up on a stool beside the window, a tape measure in his hand.

"Could you grab the other end and stretch it to the end of the window love?" Alex asked me softly.

I hummed in response and reached up on my tip-toes to grab the end of the tape-measure, extending it out and squinting to read the measurement.

"Okay." Alex huffed, gently removing the end from my grasp and snapping the tape shut.

He moved over to me and leant his head down to kiss the top of my head, "Were the shops busy?" Al asked, leaning back and playing with the hem of my jacket between his fingertips as his other hand stayed put on his hipbone.

"Not too bad." I shrugged, "You sorting out curtains?" I asked, flicking my gaze up to the large living room window with no curtains.

"Yeah, figured we need to get that sorted if we're going to be in here a lot." Alex smirked, I elbowed his rib and sauntered out the room, hearing him trail behind me.

"Are you going to come?" Alex asked, I reached into the bags on the counter and begun pulling fruit and vegetables out from it, placing it on the sides.

"Where to?" I asked, holding up a bottle of red wine to Alex and raising my brows, he nodded with a small smile, turning back around I placed it into the wine rack for us to open tonight.

"Wherever they sell curtains." Alex moved round the side of the island and slipped up onto one of the stools. "Okay." I smiled up at him softly before turning my back to him and putting the cold shopping into the fridge.

Alex clearly gets distracted whenever we're in shops, hence why I have to do the food shopping as if it were up to him, our kitchen would be filled with beer, Doritos and Cadbury's chocolate. Surprisingly, when it came to 'curtain shopping' it was the most focused I'd ever seen him.
