5 Nights Left...

ALEX POV:

"Thalia? Babe you up?" I whispered into the duvet, Thalia was squishing my arm and I was in desperate need to move it.

"Mmm what?" She grumbled and I slivered my arm out from under her waist, causing her to roll off my embrace and lie on her stomach.

"Sorry." I sighed and pulled the covers back off my body slowly.

No reply, god that girl could sleep through an earthquake. One of the many things I adore about her, she's a real sweetheart.

I tapped my phone on the bedside table, 3:54am, brilliant. There goes my sleep schedule.

Grabbing a t-shirt off the chest of drawers I threw it on and slipped on the hotels provided sliders, I grabbed my pack of cigarettes and lighter and quietly made my way out the door.

"Ground floor" I whispered to myself as I stepped into the elevator and pressed the button, watching it light up around the little circle always satisfied me as a kid.

I could've gone for a smoke on the balcony but the chances of seeing one of the people next door outside is very high so I'd rather go out front of the hotel for a smoke instead of awkwardly smoking on a balcony next to someone. No thanks.

The night reminded me of one of the bands song 'Black Treacle' how the stars looked as if someone had got a salt shaker and just sprinkled them above. The sky a blanket of black right on top of me, it makes you stare at it for ages and the way the stars aligned it were enough to make you feel as if you were on ecstasy.

I watched as the end of my cigarette burnt a crisp orange colour, the only orangey light around me except the bright yellow streetlights down the pathway. Not a soul was about and I liked it this way, peace, fucking finally. I leant my side up against the brick wall railing beside the large steps heading into the hotel, one elbow resting on the cold brick, one by my side but back and forth lifting it up so my fingers could take ahold of the cigarette now and then.

I thought my ears were deceiving me when I thought I'd heard a woman's voice down the steps on the pathway in front of the hotel, my eyes slowly moved down to where I thought the voice was coming from and I wasn't wrong. I knew it, the fucking ring girl was coming for me, or some fucking conjuring shit because this woman had a hood up, pacing back and forth (probably contemplating how she's going to kill and eat me) and talking to herself.
Wait no she's on the phone, probably speaking to 'Saw' on how she's got his next victim and that's ME.

I slowly crushed my cigarette out onto the brick railing and threw it over the side, sauntering over to the other side of the steps I stepped down one extremely carefully, so maybe I could hear what the woman was saying.

"Hang on Lu I'm putting you on speakerphone, you keep cracking up right in my ear." A voice that sounded vaguely familiar but I couldn't pinpoint it spoke clearly nearby me.

"Hello? Can you hear me now?" A muffled woman's voice coming from the phone now spoke out. I stepped down another step as the figure moved round to the lamppost and leant up against it, back facing me.

"Yes, what were you saying?" The woman spoke. I really recognise that voice and it's pissing me right off because it's like the names on the tip of my tongue and I can't seem to put a face to the voice, or a name to the voice? Oh I don't know.

"I said, are any of your new friends single!" The voice on the other end of the line called through the speaker. Ahhh, just two girls gossiping.

"No, well except one but he's more like a brother, and Lu you know I'm not ready for a relationship. My luck with men...is..well just say that you're most likely to win on a Tesco scratch card than see me in a stable relationship." The woman near me spoke, I've never won on a Tesco scratch card, they're just scams for your money I'm telling you.
