If there was one thing I felt right in this very moment at time, it would be pride. My hands clasped round the sides of the square vinyl, written at the top in italic letters was: "Tranquility Base hotel and Casino"

My cheeks ached from the wide grin that never faltered not in the slightest, my fingertips skimming over every ounce and fragment of the glossy cover, I placed it delicately on my sofa as if it were made of glass. Grabbing the envelope that came with it I flicked it open and pulled out a small folded piece of paper.

"El,
Thank you for being the most amazing friend we could've ever asked for, here's your very own Vinyl of our brand new album, and a VIP pass to the backstage when we go on tour.
-Arctic Monkeys"

A small laugh escaped my gaped mouth as I read how they'd signed it, it was adorable how they'd put their band name instead of each writing their names. My eyes widened at the pass inside the envelope, the squeal I let out wasn't humanly but I was simply too excited to even care.

Honest to god I should be put in a Guinness world record book for how quick I bolted down the stairs, grabbed my keys and rushed out the door. Usain Bolt had absolutely nothing on me when I sprinted over to my car, clenching the album close to me as if it was my child.

My fist padded against the glass window of the front door, it had been two weeks since Al and I had seen one another when we went to the beach, but he'd been calling me every chance he got and I understood he was so busy and the reason for that was right under my fingertips.

"It's probably the mail- Eleanor?" Alex opened the door, his brows knitted tight together as his eyes ran all over me. "Why do you look so surprised to see me?" I asked with a small grin, I watched in confusion as Alex glanced over his shoulder before quickly looking back to me.

"Um it's just I haven't seen you in a bit...that's all." Alex stumbled over his words slightly, due to my immense excitement I couldn't be fucked about why he was acting weird, "Can I come in?" I asked sweetly.

"N-no why don't you come in another time? The place is a tip.." Alex stepped forward blocking my entry to his rented apartment, "Al you literally moved in here like a week ago I'm sure it's not as messy as my flat." I said with a light laugh.

"Hey who is it?" A voice called up from behind him, I watched as panic flushed over Alex's face but before I could ask what was wrong the issue sauntered into my view. "Oh! Sorry I'll give you a moment." A young girl with blonde hair pinned back into a messy bun appeared by the doorway, her lipstick smudged down her chin as one of Alex's sweaters hugged her upper-body.

You know that feeling when you drop very very high on a roller-coaster? Where your stomach flips and churns and bile rises on your tongue, I didn't need to be on a roller-coaster to feel like that as I felt like it just watching the two stood before me.

"Oh.." Was all I muttered out as the blonde wandered back out of view, Alex scratched the back of his neck, crimson flooding up his cheeks as a line of sweat aligned his hairline. "It's not..not what it looks like, I just went out last night and-" I cut him off by holding my hand up to signify I wanted him to stop talking.

I had to get out of there fast, past nightmares creeping up behind me and gripping my shoulders to drag me back down into the hole I dug for myself months ago. Like they always say huh? Sometimes it's the ones you love the most that hurt you the most.

"Don't worry about it..." I croaked out, painting on a brave face as I simply couldn't cry I just couldn't do it. "El I'll tell her to leave..y-you can come in!" Alex said quickly, pulling open the door further for me. "No it's okay I'll go see the others..." I said softly, Alex's face dropped as he noticed my deadpanned expression.
