Sharp branches cut at my skin as I ran through the forest carelessly. The temperature around me seemed to drop with every step I took as my whole body started to shiver and feel cold.
To say I was only scared would be an underestimation - I was completely horrified.
Tears threatened to leave my eyes as I ran around with a blurry vision.
Where are they?
I looked around frantically and instantly felt relieved when spotting a little streak of light - probably from the fire - breaking through the leaves. I automatically ran up to it like it was my life savior, because in some way it actually was.
I broke through the forest and into the little clearing where we had set up our camp.
"G-Guys wake up!",
I walked to Dream before shaking him slightly. He woke up instatly as he grabbed my hand and sat up.
"Wha- Why are you crying?",
he cut himself off as he looked at me, face probably scrunched up in confusion.I didn't realize that I had started to cry until this point as I touched my wet cheek with trembling and unsteady hands. I cleared my throat to grt rid of the shakyness in my voice.
"Th-there's a big horde of zombies heading i-into out direction, p-probaly around 100 - 150 and th-they're not far away.",
I managed to say the words with only a slight amount of shakyness.Dream stiffened instantly as he looked around with a sharp gaze.
"Wake George and Nick.",
he quickly instructed before he stood up and started to shuffle around, stuffing everything into our backpacks.I nodded before I walked over to wake them up.
They instantly understood the serious situation when they saw and heared my tears stained face and frantic voice and Dream running around quickly.
We were still packing our belongings, when suddenly a lone zombie walked through the leaves, instantly seeing us. It let out a loud screech as it ran at us with big steps, probably attracting every else's attention and luring the big group to us.
I yelped as I started to pack even faster, my hands still trembling and vision blurring again.
I turned around quickly when I saw another three walking through the wall of leaves. Dream shot two of them before he killed the other two with a knive that was attached to his belt.
"Told ya' that he'd keep us alive!",
I filtered out Nick's words as I sipped up my back and stood up.THIS IS NOT A TIME TO MAKE JOKES!
I wanted to say these words out loud, but I was interrupted when George let out a little scream, preventing me from doing so as I turned around quickly, only to watch as George killed another zombie.
We had only seconds left until the whole group would spot us.
"EVERYONE READY?",
Dreams voice boomed through the loud noises, probably not caring about staying quiet anymore since we've been discovered already."YES!",
everyone screamed before we finally ran away. Our loud feet pounded against the snow as Dream lead the way through the forest.
My mind seemed to be blank as I ran after them, a few zombies right at my feet, making noises and probably attrackting the attention of everyone and everything around us.
"OVER THERE!",
Dream screamed again before pointing at a big tree a few feet ahead of us.Adrenaline pumped through my veins as I watched George and Nick climb up while Dream did his best to kill the loud zombies.
My eyes followed every movement as I watched him walk around with skilled hands, killing everything around us.
Where did he learn to fight like this?
My thoughts were interrupted at the sight of the big horde as it approached us with a lot of zomboies.
"ELEANOR!",
Nick's loud scream made me whip around as I looked at them with big eyes. They were alrady high up as they streched out their hands, trying to help me.I gave Dream one last glance before I walked to the tree, trying my best while climbing up. I was about to grab their hands, but stopped mid air when a perticular voice screamed out loudly.
My head whipped around as I caught sight of Dream clutching his side, blood leaking through his hoodie like a waterfall.
There were too many.
Dream limped over before trying to get onto the tree, but he seemed to struggle with the deep gash at his side.
My heartbeat quickened at the noises and moans of the zombies as they approached us. Dream had made it already halfway up by the time the big horde approached. We watched in horror as they stood still, looking like they were searching for us.
Dream grunted by the time he had arrived at the height where we sat.
"I-I need help.",
Dream's small voice broke me out of my trance as I quickly looked at him.My face paled at the sight of his bloody hoodie before I finally climbed over, knowing that he needed help as soon as possible.
Dreams eyes met my frantic ones as I hurried over. He immediately got the message before he pulled the bloody cloth over his head, knowing my next few steps.
He watched me as I hastily tried to get over, almost falling down in the process. A little yelp escaped my lips when I slipped, but I shrugged it off before continueing my way.
My heartbeat slowed down in relief when I finally arrived at his side, but that didn't calm me down one bit. Tears coated my eyes when I finally saw the wound from up close. My heart dropped at the sight of his pained face before I finally had the guts to move.
My hands shook as I grabbed the bottle of alcohol.
He was in so much pain.
That just because I wasn't fast enough.
"Eleanor."
The dark room around me slowly but surely started to brighten as a warm hand grabbed mine. My head snapped upwards as I met Dream warm eyes while he smiled at me with a reassuring nod.
"It's going to be okay."
My head lowered in shame before I inhaled shakily and quickly wiped my eyes.
I'm the reason h-
"Listen to my voice Eleanor."
I closed my eyes when Dream cupped my chin, turning my face so that he could look into my eyes. I leaned into his hand, accepting the gesture gladly.
"It's going to be fine. We'll make it."
"Ready?"
I nodded weakly before I finally calmed down. My hands stopped shaking before I looked at him with determinded eyes.
We'll make it.
I repeated his words in my head before I finally started to do my work.
We'll make it.
