*Soo-ah's POV*

Through my earbuds, a small beep rung throughout the hall. 'Flight 4J59D2 to Seoul, please make your way to Terminal 12,'

I let out a sigh before turning to my best friend who still had her earbud in her ear. I caught her attention with a wave and motioned to her that I had to go.

'Leaving now,'

She gave me an invisible nod and I pass her the earbud. I then drag my suitcase towards the terminal on the opposite side of the hall. Li's terminal was 30 and we were relaxing there but I guess I have to go now.

Most of our stuff were sent to Guangzhou already so I just have to be smart with my trip home.

I gag.

Even thinking of Seoul as home was enough to make me sick.

I turn around and run backwards.

Right back into the arms of the person I love most.

'Jesus Christ, separation anxiety much?'

I laugh but I pull out of our hug.

'I will be back as soon as possible, captain,'

'A. I don't doubt that. B. You can take your time if you want. C. I'm not captain anymore, but ok,'

I laugh again and gave her a small smile. She doesn't smile back but she's just too tired and excited to go home after another exhausting school year.

*Third Person's POV*

Walking along the airport hall, Soo-ah felt an odd sense of calm but that didn't bring a single smile to her face as she couldn't help thinking about the events that would occur upon her arrival.

She mentally cursed her unfair past and irk marks made their way to her forehead.

'Miss? Miss? You can enter now,' came the voice of a confused plane attendant who checked her ticket before trying to give it back.

Soo-ah snapped out of her trance and blushed a little before bowing and mumbling a small sorry to the flight attendant who smiled.

She walked through the passageway leading to the plane and another flight attendant lead her to her seat.

'Funny,' she thought to herself. 'I've always flown first class or business class but ever since I met her, I've always flown economy despite her having just as much money as I do,'

She could barely admit to it but having wanted to always be beside Li, she had grown to enjoy the economy seats despite complaining about them so much to her best friend. She had become fond of the too-thin-but-oddly-warm blankets, the loud toilets and the salty meals.

She cherished everything the younger girl had taught her from volleyball to boba ice hacks. Even the criticism and the death glares sent towards her way whenever she messed up. It made her a better person and that's how she built up her unique and lovable personality.

She smiled at the thought of her best friend and took out her phone to play music only to realize that Li was no longer with her so she no longer had any earbuds to use.

She bit her lip and stared at the playlist on her phone. She moved to put her phone back into her bag when she felt an odd lump in her white windbreaker. From her pocket, she pulled out a familiar pill-shaped box and let out a short laugh, smiling.

She took out the right earbud like she always does and tucked away the ovular box, tapping on the side to start her playlist.

After a couple seconds, nothing was playing. She pulled out her phone to search for the source of the problems.
