Mental hospital

It was at the time I was in that hospital that I actually started to make my first friend. We shared rooms. We did everything together and talked about random things, especially about our lives before entering this place. At first when I arrived in that place 5 years ago, when I was first taken to the room I'd spend all my time in, she sat in the corner or the room, always sitting there and didn't even say anything to me for a few months since meeting her.

"Akira, this is Camilla" our doctor introduced us to each other "Camilla, this is Cece Akira. I hope you two will get along. Making friends is very good for helping each other get better. I hope you two will grow as people and attend all the supporting groups going on" the doctor tapped my shoulder and pointed at the wall, showing me a piece of paper taped on the wall "that's your schedule for the week. It's printed out every Friday and posted on mondays. If you attend 5 out of the 7 classes, it'll earn you a gold star" I stared at the schedule and nodded "lunch will be served in your rooms while morning and dinner will be served in the mess hall. If you have any questions, many are here in this handbook" he handed me a handbook that wasn't all that big. I'd say it was about a quarter centimeter or so "you'll have fun here" He pet my head "I know it" he gave me a assuring smile I eventually returned brighter than he expected.

"Thank you so much, Doctor" I bowed "I look forward to participating in all the activities"

"A-All?" I looked at his shocked face confused.

"What's the matter?" He cleared his throat and looked at his clip board.

"Nothing. If you may excuse me" He thought for a moment "Would you like something before I go?"

"When is my luggage going to get here?"

"We are currently looking through it for safety caution"

"Of course. When you're done, and if possible, may I have my instrument?" He and even the girl looked surprised to know I own a instrument.

"Oh! I'll see what security will say about that" I nodded and waved him off. It was just me and the girl, who sat on that corner like it was the only place to sit.

"Hi, I'm Camilla" I smiled. She just stared at me with part of her hair covering one of her eyes "I know that doctor told you my name, but it's more formal to do it myself. It's nice to meet you" She looked away, not wanting to talk to me "I understand. I won't make you talk to me. We'll be roommates, and that's all we'll be. Hopefully we can become friends eventually" I removed my bag I was allowed to wear and set it on the bottom bunk, since the top bunk looked more decorated than the bottom, and what I mean by decorated... there was a lot of scratches on the walls and blood. So she's crafty.

The distance between me and Cece was far. She never spoke to me, nor ever participated in the activities where the group would express each other's feelings and even take the time to build up skills and maybe even draw something. Cece was rarely around and stayed in our room. Security often had to force her to get out and enjoy the fresh air with the rest of the lovely patients here. It's a bit overwhelming that they choose to stay away from me, but I'm not lonely...

It was that one day my doctor approached me as I sat in the play room that changed our relationship "Camilla, dear?" I looked up at him coming towards me with my Kalimba in hand. Everyone saw this happening since we're not allowed to have personal belongings with us "This had finally be approved"

"After 3 months?" I excitedly took my instrument.

"Yes! Since you've been a good girl, I'll let you take this" I smiled brightly, making him blush a lot.
