*Chapter 39: Crown🎶

The night rested upon the sky with the almost full moon glittering above us. Everyone was playing with the fireworks I had gotten for them to enjoy themselves while I stayed in a distance, not wanting to listen to how loud they were.

"What's gotten you so far away from the fun?" Nate's mom came to sit next to me "Everyone is having a great time. Why aren't you? You're the one that made this vacation, right?" I nodded and hugged my legs.

"I'm not a fan of fireworks... and I don't mind it. I like seeing everyone have fun. I'll have more fun tomorrow" I smiled at her.

"I heard you and my son got into a little argument" I quickly waved my hands.

"I-It's nothing serious! We just got into a disagreement! It's fine now!" To be honest, I don't really know if it is. I didn't bother going up to him to apologize for the outburst, but he's no different either. I guess we're both too stubborn to apologize "Thank you for coming all the way here with us. I'm glad we can all come together and have fun" she smiled at me.

"I'm happy to have been invited. You are exactly how Nate described you" I looked at her confused "He told me you gave him the chance to be a cop after what he's done. Do you know about what he did?"

"I do..." she nodded.

"Yet you still travel with him... He said you weren't scared of anything, and now I believe that. To still stick around with an assassin must take some guts" I ended up chuckling.

"Nate does not scare me one bit" she laughed with me.

"I'm glad to hear that! He also told me how dependable you are, though you do make his job hard by being playful and charismatic. He seemed to be having fun traveling with you" I hugged my legs closely "He said you get nightmares every night? Tell me about them. Does he treat you well?"

"He treats me very well. I do tend to tease him a lot, but it's all fun. And my nightmares? There's not much to say" I smiled "They're ordinary nightmares"

"I hope the dream catcher helps. They might not always be useful, but the catcher is bathe with Musha dream mist and covered with lunar feathers that bring good dreams to that person. I hope these good dreams come to you soon, so you don't have to think watching everyone from a distance is okay" I watched her stand up and smile at me "The fireworks won't last forever. Go over there" I nodded, taking it into consideration, and got up to go up to everyone waving around fireworks. N was staring hard at the one Hilda was holding, which made her laugh.

"Camie" Rosa smiled up at me "Look! Isn't it pretty?" I kneeled to where she was and stared at the sparkling powder stick in front of her. Jennie was running with hers around like a wand with her Liepard chasing after her.

"Be careful, Jennie!" Hugh yelled. I giggled and looked over at Nate coming over to hand Rosa some fries what were being made while everyone's parents were cooking in the house while drunk and doing their own thing.

"Oh! They're ready?" Rosa took the plate after giving the stick to Nate.

"This was the first batch. I thought you should try it" Nate said. Rosa took a fry and offered to feed it to me.

"Here!" I stared at her happy smile, enjoying her happiness, and took a bite off the fry before she took one and ate them with me "Thank you, Nate" she told him. Nate smiled softly and nodded "What's the plan for tomorrow?"

"Let's go see those ruins Cheren was talking about" I suggested.

"What? But you said you can't swim" I pointed at Frillish playing in the water with everyone else's water Pokémon.

"I have a ride" Rosa nodded and turned to Nate holding up the firework.

"Nate! Do you have any stories to tell?" He looked at her confused "While you and Camie were traveling! I'm sure there's a bunch of interesting stories" I giggled and leaned back to hear if he'll say something.
