"So" I walked in front of Nate and walked backwards to stay facing him "Since we're finally in the route, will I be able to catch my first Pokémon?" I asked. He stopped walking and stared at me slowing my pace "hm?" I was curious at what he was looking at "do I have something on my face?"
"Sorry, but according to this email I received, and from what Looker told me before, you're not allowed to carry any Pokémon" I rolled my eyes and looked around "He made it very clear" I peaked back at him talking to himself "Why not have a Pokémon and depend on me like this?" He noticed me staring "that's going to get old fast. Can you stop?" I giggled and jumped to hug him "You did this earlier. What are you doing?" His face was burning up next to my ear.
"I'm hugging you! What does it look like I'm doing?" I played with his pretty brown hair I can sink my hand into "Your hair is so pretty..." he tried pushing me away, but I locked my arms to stay on "You know, I'm glad it was you that was chosen to guard me" I rested my chin on his shoulder to relax "As far as I know, you're the only one in the force who doesn't know what I've done. They all look at me like I'm a monster..." I frowned "If you value your job at all, you won't take your eyes off me for even a second" I let go and took his chin, raising it so he can look down at me "Okay?"
"I'm sure what you did can't be as bad as what I did" I let go of him and held my chin "I don't plan on telling you about what I did, so whatever you did doesn't matter to me. Keep it to yourself. I'm simply doing my job" I smiled, happy to hear it and ran off into the tall grass to test how good he can be "Wait!" He reached to me, not reaching me on time as I stepped into the tall grass "Cam! Get out of there! It's dangerous!" I smiled at the nickname.
"Awe, you gave me a nickname even if we just met?" I put my hands together in awe "I'm flattered. I did tell you, Nate. You need to keep a special eye on me"
"Are you stupid? You don't have a Pokémon! You'll get hurt and it'll be my fault!"
"Exactly! It'll be your fault. If you want to take your job seriously, make sure I stick around. I can't help but want to explore! If something comes out at me, I'll expect you to save me"
"I told you to not make my job harder than it needs to be" I shrugged.
"Sounds like a you problem"
"We are strictly here to look for Rosa. Why are you making this about yourself?" I eyed him with a serious look.
"Are you saying I don't matter?" I joked "I want to find Rosa more than you do, but there's something you have to understand. I'm not only on this journey to find her, I'm trying to find myself" he held his side.
"It's better to not put yourself in danger then. I don't know if you're just trying to seek attention, but you should be careful if you want to be in the best shape to help her" I nodded.
"Yeah I know" I walked back to him "I'm only teasing you. I just wanted to see what you would do. A lot of people would wish something bad to happen to me. I'll try to not cause too much trouble, but I won't make any promises-"
"Watch out!" I paused when feeling something fly pass my head. I looked down at the fabric from my scarf flying down before my scarf completely came off. I gasped and held my hair on my face before my arm was snatched and pulled into Nate's embraced, shocking me.
"Go, Dewott!" Nate sent out his Pokémon to face the Pokémon who cut my scarf, which was squeezed in my hands while I was being held tightly in his arms.
I wanted it to stop... It made me want to scream, but another side of me just wanted to remain here. I didn't even pay attention to him yelling commands at his Pokémon to take care of what could had hurt me. It only reached the knot of my scarf... does that mean Nate knows now that I'm a twin?
