*Chapter 46: Bond

I continued to follow Rosa and Nate around the park, not meaning to overhear their conversation. I'm just trying to find some alone time with her! I've also been trying not to seem obvious that I was following them.

Rosa was eating the cookies Nate had in the picnic, after they ate.

"You don't have to act like you like it..." Nate said "I know they're awful. I think I put too much butter..."

"It's not awful! You said you made these yourself! I appreciate the effort!" She finished the cookie and sucked on her fingers to eat the crumbs "Can I get another?"

"You shouldn't be eating sugar. You're not allowed to, remember-" he slapped his mouth when he said that "Wait... Huh?!"

"I'm not allowed?" Rosa frowned "Am I fat?" Nate panicked and denied this. I sighed, seeing that that list he memorized of restrictions for me was still in his head.

"No! No! I have no idea why I said that!" Rosa pouted "Rosa!" She chuckled and looked up at the moon.

"The moon is full..." Nate looked up at it with her "I don't know what it is, but when I look at the moon... it makes me sad" she frowned.

"How come?"

"I don't know... It makes me feel like it's been there on a nice day, and then things just went south and I've felt like I've been missing a part of myself" she held her heart "I can never figure out what that is, but that dream of the girl that looked like me... She made it go away" I sighed, feeling bad that me leaving made her feel this way.

"I'm sorry you feel that way, but if it makes you feel any better... uh" he looked around "Oricorio!" Oricorio flew off to get the box he asked her to hide and brought it to him before landing on his head. Rosa giggled at Oricorio.

"Your Pokémon is always so mysterious. Where did you say you got it from again?"

"It just showed up one day at my door. I don't know why, but it never left. It doesn't even have a Pokéball. I can't capture it... It belongs to someone" Rosa held her chin to think before she looked at the gift box "I wanted to let you know that I had a really good time with you. I'm glad you said yes to coming out here with me even if you've been stressed about school"

"It's no problem! I had a really nice time! I didn't think you'd be so romantic" Nate blushed and looked down at the box before giving it to her "Oh! This is for me?"

"Yeah... I took the time to find a good gift for you" she softly shook the box "D-Don't shake it"

"Can I open it?" He nervously nodded. She kneeled down to remove the ribbon and opened the box, seeing something that made her gasp amazed and take out a cute little tea cup. So he ended up remembering that too "Nate! I love it!" She lifted it up to see in the moon light "I love tea cups! How did you know?!" He nervously laughed, not knowing the answer to that either "Hm?" She looked inside the box and took out what looked like a red Salvia flowers. I cupped my mouth "This is pretty"

"I got it because it's your favorite flower" Rosa stood up confused.

"This isn't my favorite flower" I gripped on the tree I was on. Nate took a step back in shock "But I think it's... um..."

"I... I don't know why I chose this flower. I know your favorite is lillies, but I... wasn't thinking" he looked down in a daze.

"You knew they were lillies? Who told you that? Nobody knows my favorite flower..." she smelled the flower in hand "but this is lovely" she smiled at him, putting the cup back in the box and take out another flower "There's lavender in here too! What a thoughtful gift. Today was very nice. Thank you for making this special" Nate nodded and looked down "Nate?"
