**Kit POV
I was sitting in Math, advanced math so I was in a senior class while the rest were in regular Algebra II and I was taking Pre-Calculus.
My teacher, Ms. Lancaster, was impressed with my results.
"Kit, do you mind staying back a minute to talk?" She asked me.
I nodded as the bell rang and all the other seniors, including Jamie, left the room as I grabbed my things to go up to her desk.
"Did I do something wrong, ma'am?" I asked quietly.
She shook her head, "No, Kit, not at all. I was actually calling you up here to talk to you about the work in class."
I frowned, "What about it?"
"You are so...ahead of everyone here, you shouldn't be in this class. You should be in..."
"Ms. Lancaster, I can't be any higher, I'll have nowhere else to go next year. Besides, I really don't like advertising just how good I am at math." I replied to her politely.
She sighed, "I don't know why, you are not reaching your potential here..."
"I know, but I'll be fine. Please stop asking me this." I told her.
Ms. Lancaster sighed, "I'll give your guardian a call, I'll let them know my thoughts and the principal will do the same as well. See their thoughts."
Bloody hell!
Lacey, the damn genius she is?
I just stared at her, not saying anything about it.
There was nothing to say.
"Kit?" She asked me and I just nodded as I walked out of the room without another word being said to her.
I am not Caleb with a quip to say.
"Hey, Kitty, you okay? Not in too much trouble, right?" I heard and saw Jamie.
She put her arm around me, which made me uncomfortable.
Kitty?
"Um, nothing to worry about, Jamie. Ms.Lancaster just wants to put me in the advanced class, saying my potential is wasted here and I should..."
"What? No way, Kitty! You can't leave, can you? No junior is ready for that, especially you!" She said to me and I stopped walking to look at her more intensely as she said that.
Why would she say that?
I just looked at her as she laughed, "Don't worry, I was just kidding. You know that, right?"
She continued to laugh as she walked away from me, leaving me stunned.
**Lacey POV
My head was killing me.
The deep and guttural voice in my head was getting more powerful as the days went by and I couldn't do anything to stop it.
"You caused this, Lacey. You know it's all your fault." She whispered in my ears.
I didn't want to hear her.
But my doubts have been getting to me more and more lately.
"Mom..." Lark started with me.
"If you say I look awful, I'll ground you." I threatened my daughter, as that was something she would say to me.
She started to pout, "I was just worried about you, gah."
I sighed, "I'm sorry, you know how I get."
"It's her, isn't it?" She asked.
I didn't need to say anything, as she knew by the look on my face that what she was talking about was true.
