**Caleb POV

Ian and I had free time after school, so we were waiting for the girls to finish with their respective practices on the football field.

Well, I guess it would be the lacrosse field right now.

That's where Nora was, telling people plays and leading her team.

While Kit and Lydia were on the side with the cheerleaders.

They were second and third in command besides senior Jamie St. Jean, who was set to graduate in a few months.

"Why are we out here again?" Ian asked me, and I looked at him in both shock and confusion at such a question.

I scoffed at it, "Um, waiting for the girls so we can go to the diner."

Ian raised an eyebrow, "That's what I said I was doing, you just decided to come along and I don't know why. You don't even like Nora, so..."

"That's not true." I argued.

"You sure? You hate listening to her."

"Why are we arguing about this right now?"

"Why are you arguing?" I heard and turned around to see Lydia and Kit standing there with their stuff in their duffel bags and arms crossed.

Lydia looked confused while Kit was a bit more stoic about her thoughts.

I laughed nervously, "No reason, really. It was dumb."

Kit rolled her eyes, "Can we go now? Looks like Nora is just about finished herself and I'm starving."

I nodded and stood up, seeing Ian follow suit by putting his book away.

We all went down towards the field, where Nora was putting her tennis shoes back on and her cleats in her bag.

She looked at us with an odd look on her face, like she didn't believe we were all here.

"What are you all doing here?" She asked.

Nora looked a bit different as she had decided to put several braids in her hair and tied up right now as she was busy.

"Dinner." I said.

She rolled her eyes, "All of you?"

"Don't think too much into it, let's just go. C'mon!" Lydia cried out, grabbing her hand and pulling her away.

It was very....awkward for the five of us.

While we lived together and went to the same school, we weren't exactly all friends.

Yes, I was friends with Lydia and Kit, they were cheerleaders who ran in the same athletic circles I was in.

Kit would even hang out with one of my best friends, Court.

While Nora was into sports, she wasn't always in the same one with my friends.

Lacrosse wasn't...my thing.

I'm willing to try though, it does seem interesting and I'd been meaning to get into it during my off seasons, I just didn't know many people on the teams.

Ian on the other hand was not into sports at all.

He was musical and that was not my department at all.

Though I've heard him play his guitar in his room as it was next to mine in the house, and I knew he was good.

"So..." Lydia started, clearly trying to start a conversation, even if it was awkward.
