**Lark POV
I was sitting in the car, it was a long ass time down to South Padre Island. It was so...damn long!
However, I did know that we were meeting my Uncle's Hunter and Blake down there and that was getting me through this.
"You have no idea what's going on, they won't..." I heard and turned to look at Scott.
"Did you say something?" I asked him.
He looked up from his phone, "No. I honestly didn't think you could hear me if I could with your AirPods in your ears."
I took them out and the music stopped.
It was weird, who was speaking to me?
My mom and dad were in the front seat, speaking to each other and laughing at each other as if they were a young, married couple again.
It was cute, but I knew they were ignoring us.
The trip from Raven's Hollow to South Padre was a lengthy one, but we all needed a break from the chaos that was our lives.
"Sorry, thought I heard you." I admitted to Scott.
It was just the four of us in the car.
Caleb was driving Lydia and Kit in a car my parents rented for him.
And Ian had Nora and Ezra, since he could drive now.
Ophelia and Jo decided to stay behind, relishing in the quiet while we were all going about 8 hours away.
"Hey, are you okay? You just seem like...something is bothering you." Scott asked me, putting a hand on my shoulder.
I nodded, "I'll be fine. Clearly we all just need a break."
Scott laughed, "Well, I can't think of a place better than so far away from Raven's Hollow."
That was true.
"You think they'll leave you alone because you aren't there? How stupid are you?" The voice said to me, causing my pain in temples.
As I rubbed them, my dad looked back at me.
"Everything okay back there?" My dad asked.
I nodded, "Fine."
He clearly didn't believe me.
"Do we need to stop? I know it's a long drive and you're looking green, Lark." My mom said, looking at me through the rearview mirror.
I shook my head, "No, I'm okay. I promise."
However, I was worried about this voice.
It was getting louder.
More pushy.
I didn't like that.
Something wasn't right.
**Lacey POV
A few hours later, we were finally on the island.I hate being in the car for so long, as I tend to get car sick after a while and I could tell Lark inherited that from me.
Or maybe something more was happening, but I wasn't sure.
"This is ours!?" Caleb demanded, getting out of the car, seeing the house that we had for the week we were here.
"For the week. So don't break anything." I warned him.
Caleb gave me a look, "Why are you telling that to me?"
Nora put a hand on his shoulder and he thought she would be supportive till it wasn't, "Because you break things, hard as earth and break of it."
