"What do you want again?" - Alex sighs as soon as he opens the door.
"I wanna talk to you.." - Perrie says.
"I don't wanna talk to you" - he says and tries to close the door in her face, but she manages to hold it.
"Alex please.. If I wasn't sure about this I wouldn't bother you at all"
"I only have an hour, then I'm going to practice" - he gives in.
"That would be enough" - she smiles. "Now let's go, I'm taking you somewhere"
"Where?"
"You'll see"
Perrie leaves her car in front of Alex's house and as soon as they start walking, she instinctively takes his hand. Alex didn't really like the gesture, so he pulls his hand away. Perrie looks up at him, but he's far from what he used to be like. He's become so cold and distant, he gets annoyed by her presence and he generally hates her.
He agreed to spend some time with her just because she kept texting and calling him. He just told her to stop bothering him, but she didn't listen. She decided to start reminding him of her and the things they did together. She's going to make him remember her again.
Alex was released from the hospital two days after he woke up. His wound has healed and his condition was better than the doctors expected. He started to adjust to the situation he's in, with his family's help, of course. He's managed to get Wendy out of the mental institution, which luckily didn't take a while. When Mark visited him, he didn't want to talk to him, he's mad at him again. He also started practicing football again, his contract with Liverpool was put on hold due to his condition and it'll probably stay that way for quite a long time. Nobody can risk damaging his health.
"Where the hell are you taking me?" - Alex asks Perrie after a short silence.
"To the beach.." - she says quietly. "That's our place.."
"The beach is my place. I don't know how you found out about it but stop going there"
"Stop being so mean to me" - Perrie reaches for his hand again. "You love me.."
"I don't love you Perrie" - Alex says with a serious tone. "Not even close. In fact, I hate you. And stop touching me" - he says and pulls his hand away.
Perrie stays quiet after that and blinks her tears away, trying to put up a brave facade instead of crying again. She needs to get used to this until something magically hits him in the head and returns his memory.
Alex, on the other side, has been trying so hard to remember the whole year before he fell in a coma. He doesn't remember that he plays for Liverpool, that he lives in Manchester, and doesn't remember meeting Perrie at all. The last thing he knows about his dad is that he's seeing a woman who happens to be her. Both Mark and Perrie told him that they're divorced now, but it still hasn't clicked yet.
As they approach the beach, Perrie realises that they have to pass by the spot where Alex was almost killed. She slows down her pace and tries to take Alex's hand once again, but he puts one hand in his pocket and the other one on his stomach, on his scar. The uneasy feeling seems to be mutual.
"Alex.." - she notices. "Are you okay..?"
"I don't know, I felt something" - he says. "I know that the beach was my place, but what's with the street here?"
"You were attacked here.." - she says. "You see that dark spot over there? Well.. that's where I found you.."
"You found me?"
