"What's that I can't know about?" - Jesy asks, eyeing both of them.

Perrie's head snaps quickly in Jesy's direction and Lucas takes a few steps towards her.

"Hey babe, I thought you were asleep" - he says, kissing her cheek.

"I heard a noise and woke up" - she says, probably talking about Lucas' loud outburst earlier before Perrie could quiet him down. "What were you two talking about?"

"Nothing really.." - Lucas says, being the better liar than Perrie. She's just looking at them, trying to come up with something. But she doesn't know what exactly Jesy heard. "Let's go to bed"

"What did you promise not to tell me Lucas?" - she looks directly at Perrie, and then at the man in front of her, who's now desperately trying to take her upstairs.

"It's nothing baby, aren't you tired?" - he asks, taking her hand.

"No" - she pulls her hand back, protesting. "What are you hiding from me?"

"You really wanna ruin your birthday surprise, don't you?" - Perrie exclaims as she stands up.

Lucas looks back at her, and she quickly glances at him before returning her attention to Jesy. He just has to go with it, even though he had no idea what Perrie's talking about.

"What..?"

"Well it's your birthday soon, we wanted to surprise you.. But great now, you ruined it" - she pouts.

"Wait, seriously?" - Jesy smiles slightly.

"Yeah.." - Lucas says and takes her hand again. "What else would I ever hide from you?"

"I love you both so much" - she says as she hugs her boyfriend with one arm and her best friend with the other.

She didn't believe them. Jesy's birthday is like in a couple of months. There's no way they were planning it now. Especially not when Lucas has tone of work and Perrie is in deep shit covering up her murder and dealing with Mia and Mary.

She heard Perrie talking about not being over something and after the night she heard them, she couldn't stop thinking about it. What could she not be over? Why was she talking quietly to her boyfriend after she'd gone to bed and then come up with a shitty surprise excuse? They were hiding something else and it was obvious that they weren't going to say what. That's why she chose to pretend she believed them.

The only thing that comes on her mind when she tries to solve the puzzle is when she kissed Alex in front of her in the past. Could that be the thing Perrie can't get over? She knows that Perrie chose to forgive her for it, but she knows that her best friend is a person who wants revenge. She bloody killed Mark to pay him back for trying  to kill Alex. What if she wants to pay her back the same way now? What if she was waiting for Jesy to find a boyfriend so she can do the same to her? Perrie, obviously, doesn't think straight when she's hurt, but would she go that far?

Would she do this to Alex? Would she do this just because he kissed Jesy and got with Mia before he even broke up with her? Would she really get with Lucas? But she loves Alex, she loves him more than anything, and she's happy with him now. She's crossing lines for him, just to make sure he's safe and sound, just to make sure he's happy. She never showed any kind of secrecy before that night, she always tells her everything.

What on Earth could she be hiding..?

~

Perrie hasn't seen Alex in over a week, and she's literally painfully longing for him. They text and facetime each other every day, but it's not the same when they can't physically show how much they miss each other. It's been hard for them to cope, but they promised they'd manage. Neither of them can leave their work and move away.
