Chapter 11

"Hi Wendy, thank you for coming" - Mark says.

"I'm glad you're doing this for Alex" - she hugs him. "He deserves it" 

"He really does" 

"Is she here..?" 

"If you mean Perrie, then yes, she's here" - he says. "She's his girlfriend" 

"I wouldn't really say so, Alex has been seeing someone lately" 

"Really? He does?" - he raises his eyebrow.

"Yes" - she smiles. "Do you remember Mia, Helen's daughter? She's making Alex very happy"

"Yeah I remember her.. But does Perrie know?" 

"I don't know and I don't care. She's done hurting him" - Wendy says. "Alex is coming with her tonight" 

"Mhm.. I understand. Have a nice evening Wendy" 

Mark feels as if he's won a double jackpot tonight. If Alex comes in with his new girlfriend, Perrie's going to see them and her heart will be broken, it'll be shattered. He's going to be there for her, of course. He'll make her believe that she doesn't have any chances with him anymore. He'll convince her that he's happier with someone else. At the same time he'll drug Alex little by little. By the time he goes to bed, his heart will stop beating. He might even die in his sleep and nobody will even notice until tomorrow. 

"Hey Mark, are you okay?" - Perrie asks him as she approaches him. 

"Yeah, why?" - he looks at her and smiles. 

"You looked like you're thinking about something serious" 

"Uh no not really" - he chuckles. "You're a little late, I thought you'd be the first one here" 

"I had to pick up some muffins" - she smiles. "Alex likes these so much. I just need to put these in the kitchen" 

"Make yourself at home, please" 

"Of course, thank you" 

Perrie makes her way towards the kitchen and closes the door behind her. She puts the box of muffins on the side and starts looking for Mark's safe. She knew he was hiding one in the kitchen, she just needs to find it. The most remote cupboard seems like the right spot. She opens it and smiles to herself, she found it on her first try.

Now she has to guess the code. His birthday? No. Their wedding anniversary? Nope.. Her final try is with her own birthday, and she guesses it. Talk about being obsessed. As soon as she opens it, she finds a bag with white powder inside, it must be the drug he wants to kill Alex with. Too bad he won't get to do it. She takes it out and replaces it with an identical bag with a legal white powder. He won't suspect anything.  

Once she's done, she quickly closes the safe and walks out of the kitchen before anyone could catch her. She looks around and notices that Alex still isn't here. She takes out her phone and sends a message in the group chat with Jesy and Lucas. 

"Replaced it. Wish me luck tonight"

She wants to talk to Alex tonight, after more than a week of not saying a word to him. She was so hurt by the words he said. At first she didn't want to talk to him. She wanted some time for herself, and the whole time she spent it coming up with a plan along with Lucas and Jesy on how to save his life. She doesn't know how to start it off now, but she has to talk to him. He's acting like he doesn't care. He didn't even ask her if she's okay, he didn't want her to stay with him, he just wanted to be away from her for some time. She gave him exactly that, but it hurts her more and more every day. She wants him back so bad.
