Chapter 17

"I missed you" - Mia says as she wraps her arms around Alex. 

"Me too.." - he mumbles as he slowly hugs her back. 

"You sounded a bit off yesterday.. and you still do now.. Is everything okay..?" - she asks.

"We need to talk about something.." 

"So something's wrong.." - Mia sighs. 

Alex takes a deep breath before he starts speaking. He knows what he wants to say, he kind of practiced a speech on his way here. It's just the fact that this is his second breakup in a week, and it sounds funny how he keeps playing with people's hearts. First Perrie, and now Mia.. He knows that it's impossible to be with both of them at the same time, it's impossible to keep both of them happy. He had to choose, and he chose Perrie, because he actually has real feelings towards her and loves her. He doesn't love Mia, so he'll stop wasting her time. 

"Mia look.. This relationship isn't going anywhere.. I realised that I don't have any feelings towards you.. This has to end right here.." - Alex says. 

This takes her by surprise. She wasn't expecting this to happen so soon. She knew that his relationship with Perrie was complicated, but he told her that he wants to move on, that he wants a fresh start without worrying about the shit that happened between him and Perrie. He didn't want to remember it, but what happened now? What made him change his mind so quickly? 

"What happened..? I thought you wanted to move on..? Is this because of that blonde girl..?" - Mia asks as she tears up. 

"I just.. remembered some things.. I realised that I love her.." - Alex says. "It took me a while.. and I'm really sorry for doing this to you.. but I can't go on and pretend that I feel something I don't.." 

"Wow.. Did you tell her these same words?" - she looks at him. 

"Mia- Look.. I never had the intention to hurt you.." - he puts his hands on her shoulders. "I'm really sorry.. I shouldn't have made the first move, my mum shouldn't have introduced you to me in the first place.. I wish there was something I could do to make it up to you.." 

"Why did you lie to me? Why did you tell me that you don't care about her anymore?" - she says before she covers her face with her hands and starts sobbing quietly. 

"I'm sorry.." - Alex says, going in for a hug, but Mia quickly pushes him away. 

"Don't touch me!" - she yells out. "Leave my house now" 

"I just want you to know that-" 

"Get out!" - she screams. 

Alex takes a step away from her and makes his way to the door. He mumbles a quiet 'goodbye' before leaving her house. He did it again, he broke another girl's heart. He was never this kind of person, he'd never hurt anyone intentionally. He kept hurting people even though all he wanted is to live his life peacefully. Perrie's and Mia's broken hearts are his responsibility. Too bad he can't fix both of them. 

Mia goes in the living room and wipes her tears away. She didn't deserve to be used and dumped like this. No matter how many times Alex apologises, he can't make up for what he did. He doesn't care enough to make it up. He got back with Perrie and thinks that he'll finally be happy with her. Not if she makes the love of his life end up in prison for her little secret.

"He died so soon.. It's so sad that he didn't get to live longer.." - Wendy says as she places the bouquet of white orchids next to Mark's casket. 

"Indeed.. I wish I didn't let him leave so early.. I wish I spent some more time with him.." - Tanya, Mark's sister says. "I didn't even get to say goodbye.." - she sobs.
