*Long chapter*
"Hey baby" - Perrie says through the phone. "Are you on your way home?"
"Yeah, I'll be home soon.." - Alex says.
"Can you pick up some food? I can't be arsed enough to cook"
"Of course.. I'll be home in less than thirty minutes"
"Okay, drive carefully. I love you"
"I love you too.. bye.." - he says and hangs up.
It hasn't even been five minutes since he left the training centre after the conversation with Jesy, and he still can't process what he heard. He can't believe it. He doesn't want to believe it.
Perrie's not a psychopath, no. She's far from one. She's sweet and gentle, she's loving and caring, she's innocent. She has a big heart of gold, the cutest little smile and the prettiest eyes in the world. She's one of the purest people he's ever met.
A psychopath is someone who's coldhearted, cruel, careless. Someone who would do something horrible to someone else without a blink, someone who would be able to commit murder. A psychopath is a person with mental problems, someone with anger issues, a person who can't control themselves, someone with a twisted mind. And he knows that Perrie isn't like that. She wouldn't even hurt a fly, she's too nice to do that on purpose.
But Jesy's words can't leave his mind. She said that Perrie's not the person he thinks she is, she said that he doesn't know her at all, that he doesn't know the things she's done, at the same time things she's hiding from him. But Perrie's a bad liar. She can barely lie to him or anyone else, he would have noticed if something was off. He would have suspected it. But he didn't notice anything, she's acting normal all the time.
Is she really hiding something? Is she really putting up a facade in front of all that chaos? Is she really the person Jesy told him she is? He has to find out. He's going to go to that place she told him tomorrow, just to see if Perrie's going to be there as well, just to see if he's dating a completely different person from what she pretends to be.
He picks up her favourite food on his way back and in about twenty minutes, he gets home. As he pulls up in front of the house, he spots Perrie's car there. Should he look through it? It would be so unfair, because Perrie would never do something like this to him. But he has to find out, plus she doesn't have to know. He takes the bag with food and gets out his car, then makes his way to the front door.
"I'm home" - he shouts.
"I'm here" - Perrie shouts back from the living room.
Alex walks in and smiles slightly at her. She's laying across the couch with a big blanket wrapped around her. She looks adorable like this, like a big baby. He immediately feels guilty for actually doubting her. He starts thinking that Jesy's words are nothing but a big lie.
"You're so cute" - he smiles as he leans down to give her a kiss.
"You're so hot" - she smiles at him.
"Here's the food, you go ahead and eat it. I forgot my bag in the car, I'll just go and get it" - Alex says as he puts the bag on the table.
"Okay bub, thank you"
He starts thinking about it once again. The hesitation is obvious, but his curiosity starts growing as each second passes. He has to find out, otherwise he won't be able to fall asleep. He'll keep thinking about it all the time, and Perrie might suspect something.
Alex grabs Perrie's car keys and walks out the door. As he starts walking towards Perrie's car, he gets an uneasy feeling in his stomach. He just hopes that he'll only be relieved once he's done with this, he hopes that Jesy will be wrong about this. He unlocks the car and gets in. There's literally nothing unfamiliar, nothing that hints about Perrie's secret personality. He gets out and decides to check the trunk. But again, nothing unfamiliar. It's empty, there's just a box with tools, a first aid box and a spare tire. Just things that are supposed to be there in the first place.
