The record has now a 'new best' labeled and it is two whole weeks; the record being for how long Dara has stayed gone after an arguments with the stubborn gloved man.

Dara could not find the strength to swallow her pride and walk back to the Crow Club, but she realizes how bad it had gone down when she heard through the wind that Kaz Brekker is looking for the one they call Dara.

The one with a light blue vest with silver patterns entwined into the silk.

As said before, although she never spoke the word, she does feel as if the Crow Club is home to her. It's the only home, besides the one in the middle of nowhere, she has ever known. Maybe that it is why it is so difficult to permanently leave.

Leaving is easy, staying gone is much more for the mentally powerful...

Or the criminally insane...

Or the foolish ones too deep into their emotions of vulnerability.

Guess which one Dara is labeled under no matter the mask of confidence she puts on?

Walking back into the room, she is once again filled with gambling men shoving fake kruge out of their pockets and gambling women shoving their every exposed skin onto the man. It is quite disturbing, but not a sore enough sight to cause Dara to feel physically sick as when she had first arrived.

She cannot find the Zemeni sharpshooter, nor the Suli whisperer as she walks to Kaz Brekker's office. She wondered what job they were on, for if they weren't Jesper would be at the tables causing a ruckus to which Kaz would walk out, slamming his cane to table after table to remind Jesper to go back to the door.

Inej...

Inej is only in the club when Dara was in the club. Other than that, she was out and about gathering information, crawling up walls, using her beautifully crafted knives to get secrets just enough to feed the Bastard of the Barrel.

Inej is an older sister figure to Dara, teaching her how to survive, teaching her how to be flexible, teaching her how to climb, run, all skills requiring the body.

Kaz Brekker has taught Dara how to use her mind. How to shape it, form it, to bend it to her will.

But she never did.

Dara took what Kaz taught her, and used her body and charm to completely unhinge people into her bidding. She used her common sense, and knew whether to pounce or to be an adult and walk away.

Although, her curiosity is still a battle in her own mind.

When she laid at home, on her softly blanketed bed, she always wondered what it would be like to walk on grass barefoot, to eat at a pub, to dance in the rain, all those thoughts and dreams she got off the books from the shelves.
