Dara once remembered, with her brother, he had asked her to make a dog for them once. Dara had tried, tried real hard too, but when she finally could, her brother had passed on.
Dara never made the dog real, only using an illusion, but, at times, when she misses her brother, a dog would appear. Dara believes it is a sign of him, coming to see her, to check up on her, to make sure she hasn't done anything reckless.
Well, as in has not done anything new recklessly.
Yet, Dara had not seen the dog when she moved to Ketterdam, not until the night before the Dregs left through the Fold. Dara saw the dog as some kind of warning, that she should stay in Ketterdam.
But, no. The dog was simply to let her know that with Percy on her mind, she would be safe. Always.
Which is why the Wonderer woke up gasping, a blue surge radiating across the land. But, before she could process anything, she gets trampled by a certain Wraith hugging her as tightly⏤ well, let's just say, the Wonderer couldn't breath.
But that didn't matter. She is alive and well, in the comfort of the arms in which someone she knows and loves dearly. Inej, with the help of Mal, slightly help Dara to a log.
Dara blinks, getting accustomed to her surroundings as she finds Alina, Mal, Inej, Jesper, and Zoya all around a camp fire near the edge of Fold, although, in the middle of nowhere. If anyone would go looking for them, it would be hours till found considering what had happened to the poor city...
"Where are we? Where is Kaz? Is everyone safe? How about⏤"
"At least we know she is the same Wonderer who is alway curious in which she could never keep her tongue tied for her own good," Jesper hugs her from the side, pulling her in as Dara chuckles into his hold, Dara flicking his head before laying into his hold.
He kisses her forehead, then attacking her face as Dara giggles, the rest all laughing, "we are alright. Aren't you the one who just summoned light?"
Dara then looks pulls her sleeve up, looking to her arms to find the veins inside her a completely tanner color, looking as if lines in all sorts of ways going up her arms, on her stomach, chest, body, everywhere.
"They won't go away." Jesper noted.
Dara nods, "a small price to pay."
"At least you don't look pale." Jesper retorts.
Dara raises her arm, cringing to find patches of clothes strapped onto her side from the deeply cut she gotten from the damned volcra.
Dara leans against Jesper, his hold holding her close as her hands stay entwined with Inej's.
