A fantasy au based off of d&d
Indiana walked through the forest, the sound of chirping birds died down as the sun began to set. His body was cast in the orange light that shone through the thick forest. The grass felt soft beneath his paws. Small bags of gold coins jingled on his belt. His bow and quiver hung from his back. He needed to buy new arrows as he was almost out. He hoped to find a new town or city to buy new arrows and explore for a bit. The sun had fully set and the darkness encased him. He never found the dark scary, instead he always found it both adventurous, yet, calming. He decided to rest for the night, with his low arrow supply he didn't want to get in a fight. Sure he had his claws to use if necessary, but he always preferred to use his bow. He climbed atop a large oak tree. As he looked out upon the vast sea of trees he noticed a dim glow. He knew it had to be a town. He chose to rest for the night and head to the town tomorrow. He laid atop the large branch, his cream-yellow tail covered in black spots hung from the tree branch, his bow and quiver hung from another. It wasn't the most comfortable sleeping arrangement, but it would have to make due for the night. He gazed at the black sky speckled with white stars as he drifted away into slumber.
The sound of chirping birds awoke him. He could feel the fresh sunlight on his face. He stretched and decided to head down the tree. He grabbed his supplies and climbed down the tree. He headed north to the town he had spotted last night. He walked along the dewy grass towards the town. The town couldn't be more than a mile away, it would only be a few minutes until he reached the town. After some time had passed he entered the town. He was enthralled by the bustling street, the voices of the creatures there, the building that laid atop the ground. He wasn't there to stay though, he was only there to buy new arrows. He found a shop that was selling arrows so he headed in.
"Five gold for one arrow! Are you crazy?" Indiana exclaimed, he was surprised at the high cost to purchase just one arrow. He needed a lot and he wasn't going to buy one arrow for five gold.
"It's five gold, take it or leave it." The gnome responded.
"I'll only buy at one gold, nothing higher." Indiana responded in a firm voice.
"I'll only sell at five." The gnome responded, in a similar firm voice.
"Please sell them at one, I really need them." Indiana replied in a pleading voice, his green eyes becoming huge as he stared at the gnome, pleading.
"Fine, just this once." The gnome agreed.
"Great! I'll take one hundred." Indiana said happily. He went to grab one of his bags before noticing it was gone. He looked behind him to notice a small red kobold running away. He ran to the kobold and grabbed the tiny reptilian creature.
"Put me down!" The kobold shrieked, trying to escape from the tabaxi's grasp.
"I'm not gonna do that, and I'll be taking this." Indiana said, taking his bag of coins away from the kobold. He headed back towards the gnome, now ready to buy the arrows.
"Here you go." Indiana said, dropping one hundred gold onto the table. He picked up the arrows and put them in his quiver.
"Can you put me down now!" The kobold shrieked, still trying to escape.
"Not yet." Indiana replied. He headed out the door and towards a bench on the side of the same shop. He sat down on the bench, putting the kobold next to him.
"Now tell me, why aren't you with other kobolds? I mean creatures like you like to stay in groups." Indiana asked, his head tilted to the side slightly.
"The rest of my group either got killed or went missing." The kobold responded in a somber tone. His amber eyes peering down onto the shaded ground.
"Oh that's not good. Well I'm not a kobold but you can come on my adventure!" Indiana exclaimed happily, his green eyes becoming wide and happy.
"Sure!" The kobold responded, looking up at Indiana and smiling.
"Great! What's your name?" Indiana asked, smiling.
"I'm Ohio, what's yours?" Ohio responded, asking the same question.
"I'm Indiana, but you can call me Indi if you would like." Indiana responded proudly.
"I think we will make a great team." Indiana said.
"I agree with that!" Ohio responded happily.
"Just me and you." Indiana said, pointing to himself and Ohio and then looking at the sky.
