Ohio and Toledo are in their late teens, while Virginia is an adult.
TW: Sickness, difficulty breathing, and death.

Ohio laid next to Toledo, not wanting to leave his side. He'd been in bed with Toledo for the past week now, only leaving when he had to. He didn't want to leave his sick twin's side, he feared for the worst every time he left. He could hear his brother wheezing as he struggled to breathe, he felt like he was on fire, his whole body ached with pain that wouldn't go away.

"Do you need me to get you anything?" Ohio asked, worry in his voice.

"No I'm fine, thank you-" Toledo was cut off with violent coughing. Ohio rubbed circles into his brother's back. After a few moments he stopped coughing, he breathed in craving the air. Ohio could hear the wheezing in his twin's breaths, it hurt him so much to see him like this.

He couldn't wait until Virginia got home. He knew Virginia was getting medicine to help Toledo, he wanted to do anything to help his brother. The medicine Virginia gave him never seemed to work, but Ohio held onto hope. He knew his brother would live, he needed his brother to live. He could hear the sound of the door opening. He was filled with joy knowing Virginia was home.

"Hello, how are you two doing?" Virginia asked as he opened the door to the room the twins were in.

"I'm doing fine." Ohio responded.

"Not good." Toledo responded weakly, his chest and throat still ached from coughing earlier. He watched as Virginia handed him some medicine to take.

"You need to take this, it'll help you feel better." Virginia urged, wanting him to take the medicine. Toledo reluctantly took it, he struggled to swallow the bitter tasting medication. His throat hurt even more afterwards. He collapsed onto the bed, his whole body was burning and in pain. The medicine never seemed to work, yet he knew how hopeful Virginia and his brother were about it working.

"I'll be downstairs, call me if you need anything." Virginia told the pair as he walked back downstairs.

Ohio turned to wrap an arm around Toledo protectively. Toledo turned his head to face him, a weak smile on his face. Ohio smiled in response.

"I just want you to be ok." Ohio spoke softly. Toledo nodded, not saying anything.

"You need to live, I don't want you to die." Ohio said, he needed Toledo to live.

"I know." Toledo responded weakly, it hurt to even speak a word. Ohio hugged him tighter, not wanting to let go. Toledo hugged back weakly, Ohio tightened his grip on the sick male. He uttered a noise of pain, Ohio loosened his grip around his brother, but didn't let go. He continued to hold onto Toledo, not wanting to let go.

Ohio yawned, realizing how tired he was. It had gotten to be night time so he decided now would be a perfect time for the pair to go to sleep. He was about to check if Toledo was asleep yet until he heard violent coughing coming from next to him. The coughing stopped after a few seconds but Toledo's chest ached with pain worse than before, the coughing made every part of him hurt.

"We should go to bed." Ohio muttered, hugging his brother.

"Goodbye, Ohio. I love you, I'll always love you." Toledo responded struggling to speak, his voice was shaky and weak.

"No! You have longer, I know you'll live!" Ohio exclaimed, tears falling out of his eyes.

"It'll be ok." Toledo responded weakly.

"Y-you can't d-die! I kn-know y-you have l-longer!" Ohio exclaimed, sobbing into Toledo's chest. He can't die! Ohio thought. Toledo hugged Ohio back weakly.

"Everything will be ok." Toledo spoke weakly, Ohio didn't say anything as he continued to sob into his twin brother's chest.

After awhile the pair fell into a restless slumber. Ohio refusing to let go of Toledo kept his arms tightly locked around the other. He heard the sound of chirping birds and opened up his eyes. He looked down at Toledo who had not yet awoken, he hoped he was just asleep.

"Hey it's time to wake up." Ohio said, shaking his brother gently. No response.

"You need to wake up." Ohio said, his voice a bit louder than last time. He shook his brother again. Still no response. He could feel tears starting to form in the corners of his eyes.

"Wake up please!" Ohio exclaimed, shaking his brother once more. He swallowed the lump in his throat to feel for a pulse. A pulse that wasn't there.
