You'd fallen asleep on the couch watching anime again.

He looked at your unconscious body in what one would think was a hateful glare, if one didn't know better. In reality, he was trying not to let his face betray his emotions. In reality, he found your calm, sleeping face to be absolutely adorable.

That's why he had to wake you up, by whatever means necessary.

He started by nudging your shoulder and quietly saying your name. This didn't work, so he shook your arm and said your name more loudly. He finally just had to knock you off the couch entirely. You hit your head and jolted awake yelling "SHIT! What the fuck was that? Dammit, that hurt.." You gazed up with murderous intent at your assailant, before noticing who it was. "Akutagawa-senpai? What the hell was that for?"

"You needed to wake up," Akutagawa told you.

"O..kay..? Care to elaborate a bit more?"

"You had to wake up, because seeing you asleep was giving me feelings. Feelings I didn't want to be having."

"....?" You found yourself flustered by the idea of Akutagawa having feelings for you. "Y-you have feelings for me?!"

"I didn't ask for this.." Akutagawa said with a glower. "But that's why I had to wake you up. So I wouldn't have to see you looking like that."

"Oh. I'm not sure if I'm flattered or offended.." you laughed nervously. "Well, um..I don't know if this helps or not but, I sort of have feelings for you too?"

Akutagawa's grey eyes widened at what you just admitted. 

"I understand if you don't feel the same way! I know you probably like Higuchi, after all-"

"What makes you think I like Higuchi?" He asked you, voice lacking any inflection, making it sound more like a statement than a question.

"Well I mean, she's kind of in love with you and everything, and I just thought you kind of liked her too.."

"Higuchi does not feel that way for me," said Akutagawa skeptically.

"Hmm, wanna bet?" You grabbed your phone and called her. 

She answered after a couple rings and said, "Hello, (y/n)." You could practically hear her eyes roll. 

"Um, hey Higuchi! What's up?"

"..not much?"

"Great, great..anything new with Akutagawa?"

"What do you mean." Higuchi said, sounding as if she couldn't wait to end this conversation.

"You know what I mean!~"

"Oh. No. He's still oblivious when it comes to that."

"And would you care to clarify what 'that' is?" You asked slyly.

"..why? You know how I feel for him."

"Yeah, I do. But he doesn't."

"Exactly, I just said that. What's going on, (y/n)?"

"Weeeeeell...."

"(Y/n)."

"Higuchi, let's just say, hypothetically speaking, that Akutagawa could hear you right now. What would you tell him?"

"...what the hell is this, (y/n)?"

"Just answer!"

"Fine! Fine. I would tell him that..that I'm in love with him. And I wish he could see me as more than just a subordinate, because I see him as much more than just my boss.."
