Astral's POV

It's been twenty years passed since that life changing adventure to the future happened and I can clearly spot the differences in our world from now and before and especially the way we saw the future.

Ashtar and Derick were so confused the day we returned to 2030. They have no idea what happened in that year of future generation. However, we got to explain all of it to them. That gave the courage to Ashtar to continue write her novel that was postponed because of that memorable adventure.

"The Near Human Decline"

The book I am holding was our journey to the future. Ashtar wrote this one and became popular to the public.

Astisha is now a Philosophy teacher. She persuaded her passion. She applied to her profession those lessons we learned in our journey to the future.

Now, I am a science teacher. This is my dream. This is my passion.

Sam married Ashtar as well as Derick to Astisha.

And of course, Damiel was a good husband to me. We were lucky for having two cute twins.

I raised the book was holding in front of the class. I just decided to share our journey to others.

“We are in a race. This race is against time and existence. We have to build cities because we need them but we have to make it in a different way. We need a wave of innovation not only for our way of living but also for the planet. The consequences would be more enormous if we lose this battle,” I continue explaining in front of the class.

As the world continues to exist even longer, genetic differences and traits between humans were no longer regional. Traits like hair color, eyes color and even skin color has been distributed around the world.

I opened the hologram in front of them and it made them more surprised. “The first project we persuaded was the modern genetic modification, which has the ability to edit the genome of an individual where the change is heritable and inheritable. The main purpose of this is to directly manipulate genome using modern molecular engineering techniques through genetic alterations within the germ cells or reproductive cells,” I stated while featuring an embryo that was restored in a glass bottle.

In this case, reproductive technology allows parents to preview and pick the genetic traits of their future babies. This study was used since the 21st century but we made it more advance and more innovative. With this project, the global population grow about nine billion.

The images of the satellites' debris popped up on the hologram. “In the past few years, up in the Earth's orbit everything from spent rocket stages to debris from accidental collisions created a wall of space junk. It was a huge problem for any spacecraft to leave Earth. Luckily, we found ways to clean the outer atmosphere because we basically don't want to be trapped here on Earth forever.”

“Because we got to solve the space junks, we started establishing the first lunar bases. And that marked the beginning of the permanent human presence outside of Earth.” Their eyes widened when an image of the bases established in the moon appeared on the hologram.

On the other side, even humanity completely switched to clean energy sources, global warming became more catastrophic and hard to control. Due to warmer global temperatures, the great barrier reef lost its 90% of its corals. The Amazon rainforest largely got destroyed by wildfires and deforestation. Even after decades of conservation efforts, still one million species in the wild gone extinction.

After how many years, Earth became hotter compared to the past years. Africa, Middle East and Southeast Asia were the most affected by floods, hurricanes and droughts. Parts of the planet become inhabitable.

“Last year, we opened biotechnology implants to the public resulting in humans merging with our technology on a biological level. We produce artificial organs, synthetic blood and nanoscale brain interfaces that become a new reality.”

“Gusto kong magkaroon ng artificial eyes na kayang mag-scan ng internal organs,” Wika ng isa sa mga estudyante ko.

I smiled, “We'll see.”

Now, we are still running for extinction. There are still many projects in the next years. We are planning to explore the solar system through the use of newly innovated space technologies.

We are also looking forward in making a hijack spacecraft that is responsible in redirecting asteroid that is about to hit the Earth. The Project Galaxy will soon to launch. It is about sending automated unmanned probes to be sent to the far regions of galaxy searching for other earth-like worlds.

I am also thinking of advanced spaceships to take humanity outside or even just within the solar system, terraforming Planet Mars and build spacemega structures.

I want the humanity to be settled throughout the solar system and humans on the other planet have to evolve into other species adapted to their specific world.

I remembered what Pamulak Manobo told us before.

“…Nawa'y maging daan kayo ng pagbabago."

“Because of our experiences in the future, we will be the way, the voice and the instrument to make all of these possible,” I announced.

I want other people to realize how lucky they are living in this year. I want them to be aware about the possibilities in the future and how they could avoid it for as early as now.

If there's one thing I've learned after all we've been through, that is we have to love and take more care of the world we live in and love the people we live with.

12 BYR of Earth's Existence

MAY mga bagong tagapangalaga at tagapagligtas ng mundo na isinugo ni Pamulak Manobo ngunit hindi sila nagtagumpay.

Pero hindi ito ang misyon ng mga bagong isinugo, na iligtas ang mundo sa katapusan ng mundo. Mayroon silang ibang nakatakdang misyon at ito ang magbabago sa pananaw ng sangkatauhan.

The near humanity's extinction in five byr of Earth's existence may be deferred by the Team Atrium. But still, the end has come. Yes, it has still come for it inevitable.

The sun left its main-sequence stage of its life and entered its giant stage, an episode of rapid and deadly expansion.
The sun is now close to its prize. In this final terrifying hour, the Planet Earth literally dragged through the stellar chromosphere and slowly swallowed by the sun.

Now, they'll be able to accept that it's over. This is the most heart breaking scene—the end of all things as the Earth finally rests, returning to its creator.

At this point, the new human beings that were sent by Pamulak Manobo witnessed the end of the world. But for them, this is not the end of all things because of what they found out.

"This is not yet the end. This is just the beginning of the new journey!"
