Beyoncé

Hello, my name is Beyonce Knowles and I'm a 21 year old speech therapist... I graduated college early.

Today, I'm going to the Maraj house to help their daughter, who has a speech defect.

I got to the Maraj estate a bit early but didn't mind that and instead walked up to the front gate.

Gawddamn the house was fucking huge! And beautiful as well...

I rang the doorbell and the inside of the house was even better than the outside.

"Hey, you must be the speech therapist. I'm Carol Maraj but just call me Carol." An older woman that looked to be in her early forties stated upon seeing holding her hand out.

"Hi, and yes I am the speech therapist Beyoncé Knowles but please call me Bey." I said with a smile taking her hand in mine for a handshake.

"What a wonderful name, come in."

"Thanks."

"Onika is in her room, I'll go and call her down." She said before walking up the stairs leaving me in their spacious living room.

I took that time to admire the house before me, it was simply magnificent!

Carol soon came down with a girl which I'm guessing should be Onika, she looks nothing older than 16 or so.

"H-h-hey." She said nervously.

"Hi, I'm Beyoncé your speech therapist." I replied back extending my hand out for a handshake.

"I-I know."

"Well, I'll leave you two, Onika please show her to the library." Carol said excusing herself.

"Okay." She then lead me up the stairs and through a long ass hallway which I'm guessing was the way to the library.

The lesson was soon over, Onika's picking up quite fast, she's a really fast learner and her speech isn't that bad she just has a little anxiety, if she wasn't focusing so much on actually making a stutter she wouldn't really have much of a problem.

"Well that's it for today." I said getting up.

"Ok, th-thank you."

"Bye Nicki." I said calling her by the nick name I gave her sometime into the lesson.

"Bye Ms. Bey."

I told her to not be so formal but she wouldn't stop.

- A month later -

"B-bey stop!"

"Nope." I said in a singsung voice holding the drawing over my head.

I was going through my notes when one of my drawings had fallen out. I don't usually draw except in my free time, so it was more of a hobby really.

She'd seen it and immediately tried picking it up, too bad I'd picked it up first.

It was actually a picture of her which I'd started drawing last night, I wanted to give her today but it wasn't quite up to par yet so I didn't want her seeing it yet.

She just pouted crossing her arms but I still wasn't gonna let her see it.

I really don't like people seeing any unfinished work of mine, be it school work or even drawings.

- A few more months after that -

Well Onika and I have become really good friends and her speech has improved by a lot, today is going to be my last day as her speech therapist. I hope she takes it well, I noticed she's been down all week.

I've been trying to call her but she doesn't pickup my calls.

"Good afternoon Carol." I smiled walking into the house like I usually did any other day I had lessons with Onika.

"Good afternoon Beyoncé, Onika is upstairs and please can you get her to talk to me, she doesn't want to talk to anyone."

"Don't worry, I'm pretty sure she'll come around."

I left Carol downstairs going up to Onika's room, knocking on the door.

"Onika-onik...."

"Go away, I don't wanna talk to you." I heard sniffling from the other end.

"I'm sorry, please just let me in."

I didn't hear anything thing else just some shuffling and then she opened the door.

Her eyes were red like she had been crying for a very long time and she was still in her PJs even though it was almost twelve in the afternoon.

"Come sit down." I said tapping her a spot on her bed.

"Onika, please I have to leave there's no point in still being your therapist when you're speech is already good." I said smiling a little.

"But...but we won't be friends anymore." She frowned.

"We can still be friends, who told you we won't be friends anymore, whoever did was wrong we'll still be friends and we can hang out anytime." I said hoping that will stop her from crying.

"Pinky promise." she said holding out her pinky finger.

I chuckled a little this reminding me of little kindergartners making promises in the playground.

"Pinky promise." I said interlacing our pinkies.

"I got something for you." I reach into my bag to pull out the already finished sketch of both of us.

It was originally supposed to be just her but seeing how sad she got about me leaving I decided to draw something with the both of us in it.

She eagerly took the drawing out my hands looking it over with a wide smile on her face which in all honesty made me heart full.

"It's so beautiful Bey! I'm gonna frame it and h-hang it up!"

"Aww.."

Why does she have to be so cute?!

"Alright let's go downstairs you've been up here for way too long."

"Okay."
