After the meeting, I make my way outside to Smith. He opens the door for me and drives me home. Except this time he doesn't say anything at all. Not a word the whole trip. I figured he just didn't want to bother me after what happened at the construction site.

We pull up to the apartment building, and I am greeted by some of the staff members. I just give them a simple nod and a smile. The elevator worker recognizes me a takes the elevator to my floor. I slowly walk down the hall fidgeting with my keys until I reach my door. I set my bag and keys down on the table stand by the door. Yet again, something feels off. I tell myself that I'm just being paranoid because of what happened earlier at the construction site.

I make my way to the kitchen for some water. I open up the fridge and take out a bottled water. I go twist the lid when I here a voice.

"Lilliana Maria Maximoff; age: 20; born and raised in Sokovia; twin siblings, male and female, Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, both age 12; super strength and a sixth sense. Would you like me to continue?" He asks.

"Who are you? And how do you have that information?" I question unsettled.

"I am Nick Fury. The Director of an organization called S.H.E.I.L.D." he states.

"That doesn't tell me how you have that information about me and my family." I say sternly.

"S.H.I.E.L.D keeps track of all supernaturally gifted beings. We know things about you that you probably don't even know about yourself." Nick replies.

"How did you get into my apartment?"

"I have connections all over the world." He states.

"Okay then... Then, why are you in my apartment?" I ask with false confidence.

"I'm here to recruit you for what I'm calling "the Avengers Initiative"." Fury replies.

"What is the "Avengers Initiative" and why do you want me to be apart of it?" I question.

"I want to bring together a group of remarkable people, to see if they could become something more. To see if they could work together when we needed them to. To fight the battles that we never could," Nick states, "and I believe that you can be one of those remarkable people."

"Why me? Sure I have super strength and a...uh... sixth sense but I have no idea how to control it. I don't even know how strong my powers actually are. I'm practically useless!" I reply.

"We want to help you with that, so you can use your power for something greater. To help fight battles that the rest of us couldn't even imagine." He says.

"Fine," I mutter, "but how did you even know I was a supernaturally gifted being?"

"Like I said, I have connections all over the world," Nick answers, "so are you in?"

I take a few moments before I say, "yes, yes I'm in."

"Good, because if I'm being honest... You really didn't have a choice."

"Of course not." I sigh with a fake smile.

Fury gets up to leave. He opens up the door, and right as he steps out I say, "wait! Does this mean I have to quit my job at Stark Industries?" I ask.

"No, you can keep your job. Just be ready to leave for S.H.E.I.L.D at all times." He replies.

"Yeah...yeah, okay." Is the last thing said before Fury is long gone.

One Week Later
---------------------------

It's been a whole week since Fury broke into my apartment. I haven't had any contact with him since then. You'd think he'd try to keep in touch after the guy recruits you, but I guess...not. Just then, my phone rings. I pull it out of my pocket to see that it's an unknown number.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Yes, hello Ms. Maximoff. This is Agent Maria Hill. I'm a deputy of S.H.I.E.L.D."

"Okay?" I say hesitantly, waiting for her to go on.

"I've contacted you to let you know that a vehicle is being sent your way to escort you to our facility for training."

"Okay?" I repeat awkwardly, "do I need to bring anything?... Wear anything specific?"

"Wear something breathable for training. Something you can workout in. Everything else will be handled by other S.H.I.E.L.D agents." She replies simply.

"Okay then, I guess I'll be there soon." I say and then she hung up.

I get out of bed and rush to the closet. I pick out some black matching workout gear. I braid my hair back, and I slip on some tennis shoes. A knock on my door signifies that Andrew has come to tell me that my ride is here. I run back out towards the door.

"Hey Andrew." I say slightly out of breath.
"Why hello, Ms. Maximoff. Your ride is here." He looks me up and down,
"Are you going to workout, ma'am?" Andrew asks.

"Yes, something like that." I mumble the last part, so only I can hear.

"Well, then have a wonderful time."

"Thank you, goodbye Andrew." I say.
"Goodbye, Ms. Maximoff." He replies.

I walk out the glass doors to a black SUV, only it's different from the one Mr. Smith drives. It's more government issued than his.

Then the front window rolls down.
"Lilliana Maximoff?" She asks in a monotoned voice.

"Yes?" I say hesitantly.

"Get in, I'm here to escort you to headquarters." She states.
I open up the back door hesitantly and she immediately speeds down the road. The woman doesn't say a word the whole ride. She doesn't even glance back in my direction.

"We're here," She finally speaks, " just walk in that door there, take the hallway to the left of the front desk, the training room is the fifth door on the right. The other trainees should be waiting for you."

"Thank you, I guess." I say as I hesitantly step out of the car and walk up the steps. When I enter the building, the lady at the front desk doesn't even ask for my name. She just looked up at me, scanned my face, and looked back down at her computer.

I follow the other agent's instructions and I make my down the hallway left of the front desk. I count the doors on my right until I find myself at the fifth one. I put my hand on the door and slowly push it open. I'm greeted by three new faces. Two males and one female examine me from top to bottom as I step in.
