Chapter 54: Yori and Emi!

Emi's pov

I finally gathered the courage to talk to Yori about his confession, which was so unexpected. Haruhi was worried about my mental state since it happened so suddenly and I was now in a new relationship with Kaoru. "Here, take this." Haruhi handed me a thermos which felt a bit heavy, "What's in here, lead?" I joked, making her chuckle and shake her head as I walked out of the house. "No.. Dad made some soup and he added a lot of meat to it. He wanted you to have it for lunch." She explained. "That was sweet of him." I smiled, putting the thermos in my bag. Just as we were about to leave, a large limo pulled up. "Oh please don't let it be, Tamaki-senpai again." Haruhi muttered, as it pulled up closer to us. The window rolled down, revealing Hikaru. "Hey, come on. Get in." He smiled, "Is there a catch?" I questioned, "Nope. Now come on." Hikaru opened the door and I smiled, giving him thanks as we climbed into the car. As I sat down, my mind wandered back to my talk with Yori.

"Emi, I'm sorry that I never told you before about how I felt all these years." Yori apologized, hanging his head. My eyes never left his face, at this time, I finally took notice of how long his hair had gotten. I reached up, placing a hand on his head, and ruffled his hair. Yori looked up at me, tears in his eyes and he looked a bit shocked. It was like he wasn't expecting me to be so gentle with him, which made me a bit worried. I hope he didn't think that I hated him for confessing his feelings, I could never hate Yori. "It's alright, Yori. I may not return your feelings now, but I have to admit you weren't the only one of us who liked a certain someone." I shook my head, as I looked down at the floor. "What?" He looked up at me, "Why did you never say anything?" He asked, "You moved away before I could say anything... So I never got the chance to tell you how I felt.. But don't worry about it anymore." I gave him a small smile, as he gave me one back. "Are we still friends at least?" He asked, "Of course we are, you dumby." I smacked him on the head, making him wince slightly. "What was that for?" He questioned, rubbing his head as I smiled at him. "For asking such a stupid question. Now, let's go to class before we're late." I dragged Yori to class, making him stumble behind me as he tried to keep up.

"So are you and Yori on good terms?" Hikaru asked, as we neared the school. "Yeah. Don't worry about it." I shook my head, "Are you guys still friends?" Haruhi looked up from her book, her brown eyes meeting my blue ones. "Yeah. Even if he has feelings for me.. He'll eventually get over them. Just like I did." I explained, shrugging my shoulders. "What?!!" The three of them shouted, a look of shock on their faces. The four of us exited the car, with them still looking at me with shock. It's like they couldn't believe I liked Yori at one point. Yeah... I kinda never told Haruhi about my crush on Yori. Those feelings developed back when we were all still in middle school together with Arai. You could well say, he was actually oblivious to my feelings much like I was with his.

"You're telling me you liked YORI?!!" Haruhi shouted, as we walked into the school. Luckily, we got here early so there weren't many students around. "Well.. Yeah.. At some point in middle school. I had a crush on him." I explained, "Why didn't you tell him?" Hikaru questioned, while Kaoru stayed quiet. "He moved away before I could tell him.. And I got over my feelings for him." I said, as we made it into the classroom.

"Are you sure?" Kaoru asked, finally speaking up. My eyes met his and I could see his emotions shining through, I could see doubt in his eyes. "Kaoru.. I'm sure. Those feelings went away the moment, I realized I lost my chance with him. Besides, I'm in a happy and loving relationship with you. Why would I ruin that?" I asked, making him look down at his feet. "You're right. All Yori can really do is move on like you did." He said, looking back up at me.

I let out a loud sigh, as the teacher started pairing us up in teams for an improv session. I was hoping that I didn't end up with either Ian or that crazy narcissist Akihiko, both of them were in this class with Kaoru, Anna, Yori and I. "Alright.... Let's see.. How about.. Emi and Yori, you two partner up." I looked at up at the teacher feeling extremely relieved, I smiled as my eyes locked with Yori. When I looked away, I noticed that Kaoru didn't look so happy. I sent him a small smile, which let him know that everything was okay. "What??! That's not fair!!" I heard Akihiko shout and unfortunately, the teacher paired Anna with Akihiko and Ian with Kaoru.
