Emi's POV
All the host were doing different things Tamaki was flirting with the guests behind the hydrangeas, Kyoya-senpai was reading something. The twins were playing matching shells, while Honey-senpai and Mori-senpai tried to eat noodles pretending to be one person. I was sitting on the bench with nothing to do, so I decided to bother Haruhi. I walked over to her and began bothering Haruhi, who was standing up when Tamaki-senpai appeared out of nowhere.
"Duck, Haruhi! Emi!" Tamaki-senpai shouted, as I spotted a ball hurdling towards us. Tamaki-senpai knocked us both down, as the ball whizzed past us. "Tamaki-senpai, I would like it if you got off!" Haruhi shouted, he stood up helping both of us up and started shouting at the twins. The ball flew past a tree, later on we were playing a game. Tamaki-senpai was showing off his athletic skills, so he kicked the ball. "Starlight kick," The ball sailed over all of our heads and the twins acted like they were crying and waving their handkerchief, yelling goodbye. I saw it burst through a window, I couldn't help but laugh. We were soon in the office of the newspaper club, but I didn't trust the club president for a reason. He seemed fishy, which didn't feel right to me. Tamaki-senpai begged us to help the newspaper club before they were shut down, but nobody except me stuck by his side. "Tamaki, is it okay if my crew and I could use the host club in the newspaper?" Akira asked, but Kyoya-senpai didn't think it was a good idea.
Tamaki-senpai immediately agrees, but the other Hosts see no value to it, given their gossipy rag. Akira then claims to have excruciating head pain and quasi-faints three times, groaning that their club is doomed. "We will help you make a fresh start and we will help your family." The only response that Tamaki-senpai got from the other hosts was them heading out the door. Tamaki commands that they obey him as their leader, yet off they go. Poor Tamaki-senpai, am I the only one who stands by him?

We were now back in our uniforms, in music room #3. Tamaki-senpai was moping in the corner near the window, because nobody listened to him. Haruhi sighed and had a blank look on her face, as we watched him. "Oh no, he's gonna use the puppy dog face." Tamaki-senpai rolled a ball with his index finger, before looking at us with the puppy dog face. He turned his head back around and used the face again but this time Haruhi wasn't here. She decided to leave before he could do it again, making me sigh. He turned his head back to the ball before turning again to look at us, by this time the twins had disappeared and it was just Kyoya-senpai and I standing there. Tamaki-senpai turned his head back to us and used the puppy dog face, so he continued to stare until Kyoya-senpai gave in.
"Alright, fine. But on one condition." Tamaki-senpai turned around towards us, no longer sad and barked like a dog. While Kyoya-senpai told him the conditions, Tamaki-senpai continued to bark like a dog. So Kyoya-senpai and I visited the Newspaper Club outlining the Host Club's terms to which they agree. He leaves a first-aid kit with Akira as a token of good will, prompting Akira to ask if Kyoya-senpai is one of the Ootori's whose family is involved in medicine. Kyoya-senpai assents, then asks if Akira is serving as editor as future preparation to run Komatsuzawa Publishing. Akira seeks to curry favor with Kyoya-senpai, who remains unmoved by Akira's tale of family woe. We left the room, but I could tell that the reporters were still nervous about confronting the Host Club.
I eavesdropped on them, hearing Akira threaten his crews families' livelihoods if they don't help him bring down Tamaki-senpai. Who he believes is using his parent's authority, to control the other members.
The following day we are in uniform playing an outdoor children's games, which was something Haruhi and I played all the time with Dad when he was able to play with us. Akira interviewed Haruhi, which I eavesdropped on.
"I will help you and your sister escape Tamaki's coercion, if you reveal his dark side." I shook my head, not saying a word while Haruhi sighed. "I've never seen his dark side before." We both go off to play Kick the Can. Tamaki-senpai grabs Haruhi's hand and drags her along to his hiding spot, which was under a table in the garden gazebo. Haruhi tells him a bit about her childhood friends and Tamaki-senpai reveals that when he was young, his mother was frail so he didn't have many friends the same age as himself, which is why he's enjoying their games now.
The host discover Tamaki-senpai, Haruhi and I, telling us that the Newspaper Club is off their backs. As we returned to the Music Room, Haruhi talks with Kyoya-senpai. "Kyoya-senpai, is the Suoh family that big of a deal?" Haruhi asked, looking to Kyoya. He outlines some of their businesses, which include school management.
"Which school?" He's taken aback and reveals that it's Ouran Academy. Haruhi and I are a student at Ouran due, in part, to the generosity of Tamaki-senpai's family. Leaving both Haruhi and I, surprised and wordless. "Hey guys you better catch up or we'll leave you behind!" They looked at each other, before running to catch up with them. Emi jumped on Tamaki-senpai's back as they headed inside and I looked back at Haruhi, who smiled. The twins started saying stuff and Tamaki-senpai grew quite pissed off and started yelling at them. I got off Tamaki-senpai's back, watching as he chased the two.
