Emi's pov
"Haruhi!!" I called from my room, I was struggling to close my suitcase. We were spending Christmas with the other members of the host club at Yori's family cabin, I wasn't too surprised when I found out that he had invited Ian. It seemed that they were getting along a lot better than anyone did with Akihiko. Nobody even thought to invite Akihiko around for Thanksgiving, most of the hosts haven't forgiven him nor do they trust him. I haven't interacted much with him either, I didn't want to hang around someone I didn't trust. Tamaki-senpai gave Mori-senpai the job of making sure that Akihiko couldn't come into the club room, even just to visit during club hours. "What's wrong, Emi?" Haruhi walked into my room, she took one look at my suitcase and sweatdropped. "Oh goodness, Emi. What did you pack in there?" She chuckled as her eyes went back to me, I was currently sitting on top of my suitcase still trying to get it closed. I knew that she wasn't going to be too amused by my answer, I tend to overpack for small trips which Dad said was something Mom did before Haruhi and I were born. "Hehe... Everything." Haruhi shook her head and let out a sigh, she knew that this habit wasn't so easy to get rid of. "Move over. I'm going to rearrange everything in there so you can close it." I climbed off the suitcase, jumped off of my bed, and moved away as Haruhi approached my suitcase. I was slightly depressed at the fact that Dad wasn't going to be with us this year, usually, he was able to at least be home for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day morning but with the favor he's doing that's not possible. Haruhi was in charge of making sure that both of us were squared away for the trip, and also making sure that Dad's mode of transportation and his entire schedule for his trip were all taken care of. "You are way too excited for this sleepover." She gasped as she pulled the large teddy bear out of my suitcase, "Emi, you can't possibly think that you could close your suitcase with this large teddy bear in there." She laughed, putting it on the bed.
"What were you thinking?" I just shrugged and walked over to my bed, sitting down as she pulled more stuff out of it.
"I just wanted to be prepared in case anything happens. We're spending four days over there with everyone and I wanted to make sure I had everything I needed." I answered.
"By packing your large teddy bear which can't fit in a suitcase?" She chuckled.
"I'm going to need Teddy if I'm going to make it four days into a stay with the twins and Tamaki-senpai." I retorted, Haruhi laughed and shook her head in agreement. "You and I both are somehow going to make it through the four days with luck."
After she rearranged everything, Haruhi was finally able to get my suitcase closed and headed out into the living room where Dad was waiting for us. "You two all packed and ready to go?" He asked, even though he was smiling I could tell that he was a bit sad. He wasn't spending Christmas with us this year, Misuzu needed him to attend a convention with her so he took time off work to go. Sadly, The convention was during the week of Christmas, which meant Dad wouldn't be around for the holidays. "Yeah, I had to rearrange Emi's suitcase though. She packed a large teddy bear in there and couldn't figure out for her life why it wouldn't close." Haruhi explained, "My goodness, Emi." Dad chuckled, giving me a 'Are you serious?' look. "What? I wanted to leave my teddy bear over there that way I had a comfortable pillow to sleep on." Dad chuckled in disbelief, "What about you, Dad? Do you have everything you need for your trip? You're leaving right after we do." Haruhi asked, "Yes, thanks to you. You made sure I had everything taken care of... Which I can't thank you enough for." Dad pulled Haruhi into a hug, kissing the top of her head. He motioned for me to come over, I pushed my suitcase off to the side and rushed over to him. I wrapped my arms around him, nuzzling my face into his stomach. "I'm gonna miss the both of you. You two have a great Christmas Eve and Morning." He said softly, "We're gonna miss you too, Dad." Haruhi said, "You stay safe while you're gone?" I asked, before Dad could answer my question, there was a knock at the door. Dad let go of us and answered the door, revealing Tamaki-senpai and the twins. All three of them looked nervous, they were also surprised to see Dad dressed in formal clothing. "Hello Ryoji, we're here to pick up Emi and Haruhi." Tamaki-senpai smiled, Dad gave him a look and then turned back to look at Haruhi and I. Hikaru peeked his head in the door, waving at us while Dad turned back around to face them.
"You three promise to take good care of my precious girls while you are all over there?" Dad asked, he had a look on his face which would send them six feet under if they gave him the wrong answer.
"Yes, sir. We'll take good care of Haruhi and Emi." Tamaki-senpai answered.
"Good. Cause if I hear otherwise... I will hunt the three of you down and make you regret ever being born." Dad threatened, all three of them paled at the comment.
"Dad, relax. Nothing is going to happen over there. And you know Yori won't let anything happen to either one of us while we're staying there. Come on, Emi." Haruhi motioned towards me to follow her, "I know but I just worry," Dad said, kissing Haruhi on the head. He bent down, kissing my forehead and nose making me scrunch it as he tried to keep a tight hold on me. The two of us said our goodbyes to Dad and headed downstairs. The twins took our luggage and put them in the trunk, I wasn't too surprised to find that we would be going in a limo. "Is your Dad going on a trip? He looked very dressed up to see you two off." Hikaru asked, climbing into the limo. He sat beside me while Kaoru sat to my left, Haruhi and Tamaki-senpai sat across from us. "Yeah, unfortunately, he's going out of town with Misuzu, and the convention they are supposed to attend falls right around Christmas. So, unfortunately, we will miss out on Christmas Eve and Day with him."
"Oh... I'm sorry. I knew that it isn't easy for you two not to have him home." Tamaki-senpai said.
"It's alright, Senpai. Dad will be back before we know it and I think Emi will be preoccupied with everything else to miss him too much." Haruhi said as I made small talk with the twins.
