Chapter 48: The Host Club's Mission!!

Emi's pov

I sighed, watching Tamaki-senpai chase after Kaoru and Hikaru for something really stupid. I was currently sitting on the couch, reading one of my favorite books while Kasanoda happened to be sitting next to me. I shook my head, laughing to myself as I looked down back at my book. The last few weeks have been absolutely crazy, especially since Kaoru had confessed to me that day at the beach. I had also gotten a break from Akihiko and Ian, seeing as they were busy with a project that had been assigned to them by our teacher. I had given Kaoru my answer, which was, I wanted to give us a chance. I was still hurting over Honey-senpai, but I didn't want that to keep me from trying to give Kaoru a chance. Dad found about the break up, which he wasn't too happy about especially when he learned of why the two us had ended our relationship. He also wasn't too happy about learning that I was into one of the Hitachiin twins, he believed they would corrupt me which is what Tamaki-senpai said. Honey-senpai and I weren't as awkward with each other, but it was hard to be overly friendly with him. Club was going to start in about fourteen minutes, so I had enough time to read one last chapter of my book.

"Hey, Emi.." I looked up from my page, connecting eyes with Kasanoda. "What's up?" I asked, "I was wondering how you were doing, you know, regarding the whole thing that happened with Honey-senpai? I didn't get the chance to ask if you were okay, because I didn't want to make you feel upset or anything. Are you really doing okay?" He asked, the look in his eyes showed me just how concerned he was for my wellbeing. "I'm doing better now than I was a couple weeks ago. Thank you for asking that, Kasanoda." I smiled at him, he blushed and I couldn't take it anymore.

"You're so sweet!! This is what makes you so cute, Kasanoda!!" I threw my book down beside me, tackling Kasanoda in a hug. "Emi, wait!" I chuckled at his reaction and since he didn't anticipate my actions, he nearly fell backwards. He wrapped his arms around me, steadying the two of us on the couch. Since I was so much smaller than him, I was basically on his lap. I giggled loudly, pressing our cheeks together as Kasanoda's face started to warm up. "Hey, Bossa Nova." I heard two familiar voices call, I looked over to the twins. I could see that Kaoru looked really jealous, while Hikaru looked amused.

"What's up, you two?" He asked, "Why are you holding Emi like that?" Kaoru asked, my eyes opened as I looked over at him. "What's wrong with the way I'm holding Emi?" He looked back and forth between the twins, "She's practically sitting on your lap! You shouldn't be touching her at all." I could tell that he was very jealous, which was very rare for me to see. "Why? It's not like you own her or anything! If she's on my lap, then she chose to sit on my lap!" Kasanoda argued, I started to squirm not liking the tension between the two. "Will you knock it off?!" Tamaki-senpai shouted, smacking Kaoru and Hikaru over the back of the head while Mori-senpai simply just gave Kasanoda a look.

I unwrapped my arms from around Kasanoda's neck, before getting off his lap and standing to my feet. Seeing Kaoru act so jealous, made me really happy on the inside. Honey-senpai never really showed that side of him much, so it made me feel good that he could act so jealous. "Kaoru, you don't have to be so jealous, you know? I'm only interested in you, so it's not like you have to be jealous about the way I hugged Kasanoda." I gave him a warm smile, making him blush and look away.

"I-- I just didn't like how he was holding you.. That's all. I got jealous because only I should be able to hold you like that." Kaoru said, looking back at me.

This statement took me by surprise, as I began to feel my cheeks heat up. "Emi.. You made her blush!" Hikaru shouted, making me look away from them quickly. Before he could say anything else, the club door was shoved open and in walked an angry looking Annabelle and behind her, was an equally angry Yori.

"Anna, get back over here! I was not done talking to you!" Yori shouted, closing the door behind him. "I'm not going to apologize to her. She comes home and now wants to act like a mom when she hasn't cared for any of us! Why should I be happy that she is back home?!" Anna turned to Yori, tears building in her eyes as she clenched her fists tightly together. For the first time, I could see just how angry and hurt Anna was. And I knew only one person could have caused this pain.. Her mother must have come back home.

"Anna, I know you're angry with her. But that doesn't mean you can be so rude to her! I cannot believe you said that to her! She is our mother, Anna." Yori scolded her, "Well, maybe.. Maybe she shouldn't have come back home and tried to act like a loving and concerned mother now! She hasn't been acting like one since the day I was out of diapers! She doesn't deserve to be called a mom in the first place, you know, just because she gave birth to me, that does not mean that she is a good mother." Anna argued, she then turned on her heel and stormed off, leaving her brother shocked.

"Anna, get back here!!"

"Yori, what's the matter? What were you two arguing about?" I rushed over to him, as he glared harshly at the back of Anna's head.

"Our mother has come back home. She wants to stop by the school to check in on Anna and I, since we just transferred here." He explained, "That must be nice, your mother is coming to check on her beautiful children." Tamaki-senpai said, a large smile on his face.

"Tamaki-senpai.. You've got it all wrong.." I shook my head as I looked over at him, concern etched on my face. "What do you mean? Is her mother being home not a good thing?" Tamaki-senpai asked, his smile fading as confusion took it's place on his face.

"Anna and my mother don't get along. Our mom is a workaholic and a corporate CEO, so she is always traveling and working. For a long time, it's only been my father home with my sisters and I, taking care of us. So naturally since my Mom has always been away from home, she never looks into much of what we do. Because of that, when our Mom does seem to try and check in on us... Anna gets very angry with Mom and the two argue.. To be honest, I wish there was some way that I could get the two of them to actually get along." Yori explained, he looked so tired and upset with this whole situation.

"Then that's what we'll do!" Tamaki-senpai said, as I put a hand on Yori's shoulder to comfort him.

"Do what, Tamaki-senpai?"

"We're going to get Anna and your mother to get along."

"How? They can't even be in the same room with each other." I said, raising an eyebrow at him.

"Well, I have a plan! Time to put this plan into action!! Our mission is simple: Get Anna and her Mom to get along!" Tamaki-senpai shouted, making Yori gape at him.

"We're going to WHAT?!!" Yori and I shouted in unison, shocked at Tamaki-senpai's statement.
