When Emi and Haruhi came home that evening, Ryoji was there waiting for them. He had managed to convince his boss to let him leave early since his daughter was having an extremely tough time in school. He also had changed into some comfortable clothes, thinking that Emi was going to need more of her father than a mother at the moment. He was surprised to find out that Tamaki and the other host members had dedicated their time to finding Yuki, only to be stunned when Haruhi told him that Tamaki, Kasanoda and Yori were the ones who found Yuki. He was happy to see Emi grinning from ear to ear as she held onto Yuki while heading to her room. He had been so worried about her mental health that he was hardly worried about work or anything else. He was happy to learn that Tamaki and the others had spent most of the day looking for Yuki, which led them to following Akihiko. He wasn't very happy with learning about what Akihiko had done and wanted to give the young man a piece of his mind, but Haruhi explained that Kaoru had done that for him. Nonetheless, Ryoji was ecstatic to see Emi happy again and decided to cook dinner for the three of them that night. It took about two days for Emi to get over everything that happened. The very next day seemed to start off smoothly, Yori picked up Haruhi and Emi from their house and the three of them all headed to school together. Although, Anna was nowhere to be found at the present moment. Emi was holding Yuki tightly and it seemed that Yuki had a new accessory, a backpack leash that Haruhi used to use on Emi when they were younger. When Emi was four, she had a bad habit of wandering off so Ryoji bought a backpack leash and gave it to Haruhi to use whenever they were out of the house.

"Hey, where's Anna?" Haruhi asked, "Anna went to school a little earlier, she said she had something to do." Yori explained, "Does this something involve Ian?" Emi asked, looking back at Yori. "Yeah, she said she had been paired with him on a project for class they have together." Haruhi and Emi looked at one another, the two giggling lightly confusing Yori. "What's so funny? Is there something I should know about?" He looked between the two, absolutely confused as to why the two were giggling. "Oh, nothing." Haruhi smiled, waving her hand dismissively. "Oh come on, you two clearly know something about my sister that I don't. So tell me what you two know." Yori raised an eyebrow at the two, his protective side coming out. "No can do, Yori." Haruhi shook her head, "We promised not to tell anyone and that's what we will do." Haruhi and Emi walked ahead of Yori, leaving him still confused and stunned that they wouldn't tell him. They arrived at school in little time, "Haruhi, just tell me."

"Sorry, Yori. We promised."

"Come on, Haruhi. We don't want to be late for class." Emi pulled Haruhi's hand, dragging her to class.

"Morning, you two." Haruhi greeted as she and Emi sat down in their seats. Hikaru and Kaoru had just walked into class, Kaoru seemingly already in a bad mood while Hikaru was trying to keep it at bay. "Morning, Haruhi." Hikaru smiled when he saw Emi happily sitting with Yuki in her arms, her nose already buried in one of her favorite books to read. "She's really happy, huh?" He asked Haruhi, "Yeah, she is. It's the happiest I've seen her since this whole ordeal happened." Haruhi smiled, looking at her sister. She then looked at Kaoru who seemed angry, he had taken his seat behind Emi. "What's got Kaoru in such a bad mood?" She asked Hikaru, "Akihiko found us when we entered the school. He begged Kaoru to let him see Emi." Hikaru explained, "Why?" She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, "He wants to apologize to her about taking Yuki and giving her away." He said, "And Kaoru didn't go for it, huh?" She looked back at Kaoru, who was staring out of the window. "Yeah, he didn't. He nearly punched Akihiko again, I had to drag him here before he lost his temper." Hikaru sighed, "Well... At least Emi is happy." Kaoru finally looked away from the window as Hikaru took his seat, his eyes shifting to Emi. All the anger he was feeling was slowly starting to melt away, all he could think about in that moment was Emi and her happiness.

When lunch rolled around, lots of the people noticed that Emi's sour mood had now become cheerful. Many of her customers were happy to see Emi back to her cheerful self, they hated seeing Emi so hurt and heartbroken. However, they noticed the odd behavior in Akihiko, who was sulking as he walked towards the cafeteria. Emi trailed ahead of Haruhi, Hikaru and Kaoru totally in her own world. Everyone they passed in the hallway on the way to the cafeteria could tell that Emi was extremely happy, "I swear if that ass hat tries to come back to see Emi, I'm going to punch him." Kaoru snapped, crossing his arms. "Violence is not the answer, Kaoru. Punching Akihiko again won't solve anything." Haruhi said, "Haruhi is right, you know." Everyone jumped as Kyoya had appeared behind the three of them.

"Jeez, Kyoya-senpai don't just suddenly appear behind us like that!" Kaoru said, "Yeah, Kaoru is right. Who knows what would have happened had he swung his fist?"

"It seems that it's a become a habit of sorts for you, hasn't it, Kaoru?" Kyoya looked at Kaoru, who scoffed and turned his head away from him. "Come on, Kaoru. Don't be like that." Haruhi said, "It has not become a habit for me to punch people. I only punch those who deserve to be punched." Kaoru said, looking forward. His eyes landed on Emi who was now walking with Anna and Yori, she seemed so happy. "Anyone who takes Emi's happiness away deserves to be punched. Anyone who takes her for granted doesn't deserve the kindness and friendship that she offers. Akihiko took her for granted." Kaoru said, the four of them watching Emi smile and joke around with Anna at Yori's expense.

"You're right.. He did." Kyoya said, "And we won't let that happen again."
