Readers from the U.S., have you heard of the word "lurgy"? Also spelled "lurgi." I hadn't before this morning!

It's of British English origin, was first used on the Goon Show in the 1950s, and was probably created by the writers of that show. According to a website which purports to be connected to the Oxford English Dictionary, "lurgy" is an unidentifiable illness.
