A drop of water
Falling
Onto the table
The edges soften
Burst outward
Like the rays of a sun

A drop of water
Sliding
Across the table
Leaving a trail
Of tiny water marks

A drop of water
Sitting
On the table
Peaceful
Until a dishcloth
Bears down on it
And wipes it away
