"Why do you feel so deeply?"
I was asked this question by a boy
Who couldn't feel the same for me
As I felt for him
I tried to explain but words failed me
As they usually do when I'm put on the spot
But now I have an answer for you
Why do I feel so deeply?
There is no other way I can live
If I choose not to feel then I am hurt
And if others are hurt by my feelings
That's their issue
I must feel
Every emotion that springs to my mind, to my heart
This is why I feel so deeply
