Adena started classes that morning with a bit of apprehension. She couldn't eat anything at breakfast because of the tight feeling in her stomach, earning a scold from her classmates eating next to her.

"Eat. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, you should know that Adena!" had told her Jade, her roommate, trying to convince the brunette who continued to sip her tea, avoiding everyone's gaze as she read Jacob's Daily Prophet.

Jade was a tall and lean black girl. She most often had her dark hair up in a ponytail, revealing her sharp jawline and pretty face. She radiated confidence but was also caring, always expressing her concern regarding Adena's state even though the young brunette tried to avoid that kind of argument anytime she could.

"You had surprisingly more appetite at Slughorn's dinner," said Eugenia softly, catching everyone off guard with that statement.

The young Ravenclaw looked up at her comrade, hiding her face behind her cup of tea before going back to reading.

"That was because it was boring as hell and eating was the only thing to distract me."

"Regulus Black was sitting next to you, you could have chatted more with him," muttered the redhead girl, thoughtful.

Adena visibly tensed up. "He wasn't of good company," was all she said.

After finishing, they all made their way to class. As it was almost time for classes, the exit of the Great Hall was full of people, nobody wishing to arrive late for their first class of the week. Just as the young Ravenclaw was about to get out of this mess, a person accidentally pushed her, making her collide with a strong chest then making her stumble slightly before being caught by Isaac who was behind her. She lifted her gaze right away meeting Regulus' cold one that turned surprised for a brief instant before his grey orbs became cold again. Adena's hazel eyes were just as surprised as his, before she started frowning, hanging her head down, muttering a quick 'sorry' before escaping the mob.

She let out a sigh of relief as she finally reached the Potions classroom. Some people were already there. Millie, who was seating in front of her, next to Xenophilius Lovegood, one of their housemates, turned around after hearing some noise behind them.

"Oh, you managed to escape you too."

"Yeah," replied Adena with a smile, that Millie returned cheerfully.

That girl was joy and joy only. She would be there to light up anyone's mood. And she had such a kind heart. She was quite the original type as well, with her short purple hair and fantasy style, which made her and Xenophilus Lovegood an eccentric pair when they were together. People would often think she was kind of weird, but Adena rather thought she was interesting. She could never understand where she got all her joy and originality from. The brunette was more of a pessimistic person after all. It was probably because of her Muggle mother that she got that from since you rarely saw witches and wizards with such colorful outfits. She appeared the most normal with her uniform.

More people started to slowly appear in the classroom. Without even realizing it, the brown-haired girl lifted her head up towards the back of the class, unconsciously finding Regulus Black at his usual spot. As if sensing her gaze, he turned his grey eyes towards her, before diverting once again while she did the same. He was odd, more than usual. She decided to not mind too much though.

The days were passing by slowly. Adena was just as bored as ever as she watched the rain pouring down through the window. Autumn was definitely there, she thought. Her mind was full of thoughts. She was trying to find a present idea for her sister's upcoming birthday, but obviously couldn't find any. Candace had planned to throw a huge party for her seventeenth birthday. It was the same Saturday as the Gryffindor vs Slytherin upcoming Quidditch match. Everyone was so excited as it was the first match of the year and that it had been postponed due to the bad weather, so it was now scheduled one week after Halloween. The party would be of recomfort if Gryffindor were to lose, which wouldn't happen obviously, had said Candace. Adena couldn't find any interest in this sport or any sport at all, but her sister had forced her to attend the match as it was her 'special day.' The young Ravenclaw had been warned that she would have to have a drink for her sister's birthday. Even though she told her a million times that she was supposed to patrol around the castle after curfew, reminding her she had prefect duties to attend but Candace was just too stubborn and Adena had to surrender.
