When they hopped in the train, both Noah and Adena leaved them to make their way to the prefects' carriage. The brunette girl instantly spotted Regulus sitting with Ivanna at the back of the large compartment. She approached them, Regulus noticing her but especially her happy smile right away. She sat in front of him, Noah at her side, then just said.
"My sister and I had a talk, well she rather asked for forgiveness and I said 'okay'. I should have listened to you."
Regulus shrugged but smiled slightly. "Well, told ya."
Before they could keep chatting, the Head boy and Head girl entered the compartment and started giving instructions on the patrolling sessions during the train ride. They gave every pair their time of patrol, telling them they could use the compartment they wanted after finishing. Then it hit Adena. She wouldn't be patrolling with Regulus today. The girl faced him again and he was already looking back at her, as if expecting her reaction.
"We won't..."
"Yeah, not today."
"I'm that much of a bad partner, Adena?" suddenly said Noah with a pout. She turned her body towards him, with a reassuring smile on her face.
"No of course dummy, I just got used to Black during patrolling."
He gave her a small smile while answering, "Don't worry, I was joking."
Just as he said that Adena noticed someone staring at them from behind him. She cocked her head just a little, meeting Lily Evans' green eyes. She was a prefect as well and Remus Lupin was sitting at her side. She offered them a small greeting smile.
The fifth years were the first to patrol, starting with the Hufflepuff pair, then the Ravenclaw one, and the Gryffindor one, finishing with the Slytherin pair. Around every hour, a pair was relaying, and soon enough, Adena and Noah's turn would come. While waiting, they had a small talk with Ivanna and Regulus but after some time they had to go.
Adena's eyes met Regulus' as the Head boy called their names. She got up after Noah, following him to the Head boy as the Slytherin boy still had his grey orbs stuck on her silhouette. When the Head boy and the Head girl finished talking to them, they directed themselves to the door. Just before closing the door, Adena's hazel eyes met Regulus' stormy gaze; her lips mouthed a small 'bye' and she then left, leaving Regulus' eyes fixing the door.
Ivanna nudged him with a snicker, saying, "She left you know." But the boy stayed quiet at her words, just lost in his thoughts.
Both Noah and Adena patrolled for an hour in the corridors of the train while chatting. When time was up for them, they joined their fellow Ravenclaws in their compartment.
"Here they are. It was starting to get boring without you. These guys aren't funny," said Jacob as they entered the compartment. They say next to the two boys and then, they continued talking for the rest of the rid. They took the time to eat many sweets and snacks when the old woman passed by their compartment with her trolley. Adena bought cauldron cakes and chocolate frogs with her remaining noses. And the ride was quite enjoyable.
The Hogwarts Express arrived at King's Cross Station at around 6pm. The excited students left the train after it stopped, suitcase in hand. There were many parents but Candace and Adena knew their parents weren't there. After a while they spotted a small creature, waiting, unmoving near a wall at the back of the mob. Pimchin, their house elf was there to welcome them and bring them back home.
"Hello, Pimchin!" said Candace as Adena smiled at the small creature.
"Oh, Miss Candace, Miss Adena! Pimchin is very happy to see you again," squeaked the elf.
