From the day I was created, I was prepared for this. To escort souls to their happiest place. I just had to wait a few thousand years to wake up.
Everything I know is what he knows. That means I know what happened before I woke up. I know about demons and monsters, just like I know that my home is now a better place than before. Everyone can now live in peace, in absolute harmony. It's no longer ruled by angels, trying to overthrow God. All we do is bring comfort to everyone.
He even created us the way humans imagine us to make it easier for them to adjust. He even gave us the ability to feel like humans, but we need to learn it.
I know I have brothers and sisters so much older than me, and a lot of them fell during the time before my father was born and even when he was on the earth for a few years. Not all of them agreed with my father to be the new God, but in the end, they had to obey, and now we are all equal, no matter when we have been awakened.

I have never spoken to a human before, so I'm curious how it will be. Will it be pleasant or rough because the human can't quite understand what is happening to him? Will it be boring or funny? Maybe that depends on the human and his character.
All these thoughts show me how similar my father created us to the humans. It is a human thing to have doubts and anxieties, but my father gave this to us to be more empathic.

And today is my day. My father knew he would come sooner or later, and it sounded like he was sad about the fact he is coming but happy at the same time.
And now he is calling for me to give me my last instructions.
"Evangeline, in a few minutes, you will start your first job. Are you excited?"
"Yes, of course, Mylord," I answer, bowing my head a little.
His face turns with amusement when he replies:" I told you, no one needs to call me Mylord. Jack is more than enough."
"Yes, Mylord." I stutter before I correct myself. "Jack."
I look at him and see him smiling. "Evangeline, the soul you are going to accompany, is essential to me, and I want you to do everything he wants and needs. Especially because he won't be lead here, he has to find the way on his own." Since the last Death was killed, Jack let the souls find their way up here alone, and we have to welcome them at the new heavenly gate.
"Really everything?" I ask him. "I thought there are some rules for the souls in heaven?"
"There are, but not for him." And before he goes on talking, he thinks about his following words. "I will tell you something." And Jack stands up from his chair. "He is one of my fathers."
I look at him, confused. "Your father? But aren't you sad, he is going to come?"
"I 'm, but you know I was his child first and do miss him."
"I understand."
Jack strokes over one of my cheeks while he says: "No, you don't, but I appreciate the fact you try." Smiling, he approaches the door to open it for me. "That is what I want you to do. Try, and later, you will understand. It's not hard to understand humans."
"I hope so," I answer and approach the door. Before I can step out of his office, he lays a palm on my shoulder. "Evangeline, I feel you are afraid and nervous. On the one hand, that's good because it means I managed to make the angels more human, and on the other side, I believe you take your responsibility seriously."
"I do, really," I reply and feel something like a fire in my face. My fingertips rush to my cheeks, and I can sense the hotness on my skin.
"What you now feel is pride." My father senses what kind of thoughts are going around in my head. And now, a new feeling rushes through my stomach. Smiling, Jack continues: "And that is Shame." He locks his eyes with mine, and even his face was never anything then friendly, I can only hardly stand his gaze. "Evangeline, believe me, all these feelings are normal, and you will learn how to read them. Don't worry."
"Yes, I will keep that in mind," I answer quietly.
"But now, you should really leave. Many souls are coming today, as always, and we can not afford a jam at the gates, only because I'm the reason you are late. Hurry now."
He kisses me on the forehead, and I nod, rushing out of his office.
