Evangeline's POV

I step into the shower, reaching my fingertips out to the water. It's warm, not cold like the rain outside, and while stepping under the floating water entirely, my skin gets covered in goosebumps. I close my eyes, feeling the warmth when I hear my name.
"Evangeline."
My eyes burst open, startled my body stiffens. Slowly I open the curtain, but there is no one.
"Hello?" I holler, but there is no answer. Maybe it was just my imagination.
But then again, there is this voice: "Evangeline."
First, then I realize the voice echoes in my head, and I recognize the voice.
"Father?" I ask out loud.
"Yes, it's me."
"Are you here?"
"No, I can't leave heaven, and you shouldn't have gone too."
"I'm sorry, I just... It just happened." I still speak the words out loud.
"I know what happened. Rowena always has the strongest spells, no wonder you were dragged out too."
I don't know what to answer, so I remain still, and Jack goes on: "Now that you are there, I want you to stay."
"Really?" I ask back, and I can't help a smile rising on my lips.
"Yes, I can't put my finger on it, but something is coming. I guess that's why Sam and Rowena brought Dean back to life. And I want you to keep them safe."
"Me? I don't think..." but Jack interrupts me: "You can and you will. You already used your abilities, and they will rise with time. I will give you two more gifts from me."
I feel a heat in my chest, and it's not from the water. Without warning, Jack seems to flash me with memories and knowledge, and my hands grab my head.
"That hurts," I scream in pain, and I sink to my knees. "Ouuuuch!" tears start streaming down my face, and I have the feeling my head will burst into pieces.
Then the pain slowly leaves my head, but I still kneel in the shower holding my scalp when the door cracks open.
"Evangeline?" I hear a deep voice, now clearly from inside the bathroom. The curtain is yanked open, and Dean kneels beside me.
"What happened?" he asks quietly and lays a palm on my shoulder. I peek over my shoulder, seeing Sam pass Dean a towel, which is tossed over my back.
I grab the corner and envelope myself completely before I get on my feet again.
I look at Sam and Dean, and their faces are worried.
"It's ok, " I declare, "God was talking to me and..." I stop, trying to explain what happened. "Well, I guess I'm not an angel in training anymore." I try to smile, but it's weak. All  Jack showed me still echoes in my brain.
"Jack?" Sam asks, "what... is he still here?" and he looks around like Jack is hiding behind the door.
"He wasn't here. He just talked to me." and now, with the open door and no more warm water, I shiver.
"Ok, ok, " Dean states, " first you need to get dressed, we can talk after that."
He leads me out of the bathroom into another space with a bed. Onto the bed are some clothes.
"This is the only stuff we have in smaller sizes, hope it will fit," Dean says, "get dressed and come back to the main hall. Do you find the way back?"
"Yeah, I think so," I answer. Dean gives me a nod and vanishes out of the room.
I take the clothes and try them on. The shirt I can button up, it's way too long, but with rolled-up sleeves, it's ok. The pants are something else. Not only are they way too long, no matter what I do, when I let go of them,  they also slip down my legs.
So I grab the hem and start making my way back to the main hall.
Hearing me, Sam and Dean face me, both a laugh on their lips.
"Yeah, Dean, great idea giving her your clothes," Sam says, still laughing.
"Better than your gigantic stuff." Dean rumbles back.
"I mean, " I say, waving one arm around, " the shirt is ok I guess, but the pants..." and I let the pants loose.
Sam laughs out loud again, while I can see Dean's face getting rose-toned, and he makes a few steps and brings himself between Sam and me.
"Ok, we need to get her something different. Sam, go and ask Rowena if she might have something."
Sam's forehead wrinkles again, it seems like he does that quite often, and after he glanced between Dean and me, he leaves the room.
I pick up the pants again, unsure what to do or say until Dean tells me to take a seat.
Sam comes back and tells, Rowena will have a look.
We sit in silence, but I feel Sam and Dean changing looks between them.
I look up and ask: "Is there something you want to know."
Dean clears his throat before he starts: "What did Jack want? Why didn't he talk to us?"
"I don't know, but..." and I tell them what Jack said and showed me. After I finished, Dean asks: "So, you know now how to open a car door?" and Sam looks at us with narrowed eyes, and of course, he doesn't understand what that means.
I nod, saying: "That and almost everything else."
"Nice, I thought I need to teach you like a child." Dean looks at Sam and goes on: "In heaven, she didn't know how to open a car door."
"What?" Sam says in disbelief.
"I just woke up, and everything was new to me," I explain.
"So, Jack really did it? He created new Angels?"
"Yes and no, it's hard to explain. I was sleeping, you know? And Jack woke us all up."
"Something not explainable." Sam answers and nods. He sounds like he understands.
"And these powers?" Dean asks.
"No idea. Jack  said I would find out."
"That son of a bitch." Dean grunts, but I can also see a small smile.
"Maybe that's how a God has to be, " Sam says, "mysterious and allegeable."
"So, now we clarified that we need to talk about why you and Rowena got me back." and Dean turns entirely to Sam.
Sam clears his throat and starts talking: "When you...when you died, I brought you back here, home. And I was shocked to see the Queen of hell here, waiting for me... For us." Sam smiles nervously, but Dean remains silent, waiting for him to go on.
"She didn't know about you and what happened, and she wanted to talk to us. She had heard from her whistleblowers that something really dark, strong, and dangerous is facing us, and I knew I couldn't do anything without you. So after days of research, we finally found a spell to pull you out of heaven."
Hearing Sam speaking, my eyes widen but looking at Dean makes my heart fall out of my chest. His face is stone hart, almost aggressive, and then he stands up: "I need a beer." and he leaves the room fast.
I stare after him for a second before I turn back to Sam, who asks: "He was at peace there, right?"
"Not immediately, but he was on a good path. For some souls, it's harder, and it takes longer to accept and understand that there is no harm anymore."
Sam nods, and I can see tears in his eyes. I grab his hand: "Sam, the first thing he wanted was to bring him back to you. He fought against it, he really did. I guess after he met Jo and Ellen, he slowly realized that heaven is a good place, and he maybe wanted to stay. He even wanted to visit your parents, but before he could, you did the spell, and we fell."
Sam drives through his hair with his palms: "My... Our parents are there?"
"Yes, and they are very happy, really."
Sam looks a little bit happier than two seconds ago, and I try to comfort him by caressing his hand with my thumb. He lays his other hand over mine and whispers: "Thank you."
"You are welcome," I answer, smiling.
"Are you done?" A voice let us startle, and fast we let go of each other's hands. Dean approaches us, glancing between us before he lets himself fall onto a chair again. "Ok, " he starts, " how much have you found out yet?" and he places three bottles of beer in front of us. Before I can grab one, he gets hold of a bottle, opens it, and slides it over to me.
"Just in case," he says.
"I know how to open a bottle now," I answer but take the bottle and drink. When the liquid hits my tongue, I taste beer for the first time and honestly, it tastes bitter. I grimace, gulping it down, and place the beer on the table.
"Yuck."
"Yeah, that's what we all thought the first time," Dean says and takes a sip himself, "it gets better after a while, believe me."
"I don't think so. It's bitter, why should someone like it?" I ask, staring at him.
He grins:" Maybe you prefer something with a tiny umbrella?"
"I don't get why an umbrella should make it better?" I answer, confused.
But Sam interrupts us:" I don't know what this thing is between you two, but could we get back to the original topic? It's urgent."
Dean smirks at me but looks at Sam then:"Ok, shoot."
Sam takes a deep breath:" We think it could be Jesse."
"Jesse who?" Dean requests.
"Don't you remember? The boy? The child of a demon?"
"The child of a demon?" I shriek and I feel fear rising. "This would be critical."
"It is, " Sam answers, " he is almost as powerful as Jack. He is able to change reality, he can kill with a blink of an eye."
Dean is silent, he seems to process what he just heard.
"Dean?" Sam asks anxiously.
"Sam...we had no idea how to defeat him in the past, how should we be able to do it now? He isn't stoppable. Only because he beamed himself away, we were safe. And remember, he was only 12, imagine what he can do now." Dean rubs his forehead.
"That's why I needed you back." Sam replies, "and even better, you came back with an angel." Sam smiles at me, " I can only hope you will help us."
"That's why Jack wanted me to stay. Of course, I will help."
Dean stands up, emptying his beer before he announces: "Right, but before she can help, she needs suitable clothes. So, let's go." and he starts to climb the stairs.
"Uhm, Dean?" I stop him.
"Yes?" He replies impatiently and looks down at me.
I stand up and let go of the pants again, so it glides down. "I don't think I can leave like that."
I hear Sam chuckling and Dean comes down again, rolling his eyes.
"Rowena want to give me something, maybe?" I ask quietly, intimidated by Dean's behavior.
"Her clothes are not suitable. I will have a look if your dress is dry now. This should be ok until we bought something different." and Dean leaves the room.
I take a deep breath, and Sam speaks:" He isn't always like that. I guess it just happened a lot in the last hours."
"I know he isn't. You see, I'm an angel, I'm capable of seeing more than the eyes can. Hard shell - softcore."
Sam nods: "That's more than true. And he got more soft throughout his life. He even wanted to stop..."
But Sam can't finish because Dean comes back.
"It's not fully dry, the angles are still a little damp." and he hands me over my white dress. I take it from his hands and look around.
"Where can I change?"
"Now you need privacy?" Dean asks, "you didn't need any when you went to the shower." his arms are crossed over his chest.
"Dean." Sam huffs.
I turn around to face him:" I wasn't aware humans don't do that in front of others. But thanks to Jack I know better now."
I see Dean gulp hard and he doesn't say one more word, so I leave the room and change the clothes in another.
