Dean's POV
I wake up hearing someone shouting my name.
"Dean? Eve?"
"Oh shit," I mumble and start shaking Eve gently, "Hey, Sunshine, we overslept."
"What?" she shoots up and before we can even think about getting dressed, the door flies open.
"Hey..." Sam appears in the doorframe and he freezes seeing us lying in bed.
"Oh no, I'm sorry," he turns but keeps talking," maybe you should both come down." and with one last look over his shoulder he leaves.
Eve is hiding under the blanket and now peeks to see if Sam is gone. Ashamed, she looks at me. I kiss her and say:" No need to be ashamed ok?"
She nods slightly and we get dressed again. Getting down the stairs, I feel how she tries to hide, but as soon as she spots Jody and Claire with bandages around her arms, she loses her shyness and runs into the living room. She kneels in front of them, asking:" May I look?" Claire nods and gently, Eve unwinds the gauze. Claire's hisses in pain.
"I'm sorry, I will heal it right now," Eve says and holds her hand over the spot. A golden light appears and the branding on Claire's arm is gone.
"Better?" Eve asks, smiling and Claire nods. Now it's Jody's turn and she has the same relieved look on her face after the mark is gone.
Eileen comes from the kitchen with tea for them. After a short silence, Jody starts to talk.
"At first sight, it's a pretty standard church. It looks like a church with everything, even the pipe organ." she chuckles." There were a few more new members, so we all followed a priest to a bathtub. Before we were cleaned, we all got a white robe."
Sam asks:" What did the priest say during the bath?"
"Nothing special, just the normal stuff," Claire answers," he even talked in English, no Latin."
Sam and I look at each other, nodding and Claire goes on:" After that, we all got cut off a tiny strand of hair."
"I still don't know what they want with that," I say and a strange feeling washes through me. And that isn't a good sign.
"Well, me neither and yeah, at last, you saw it." Claire ends.
We all remain silent until I ask:" So, there was nothing else suspicious? I mean, other than these strange rituals?"
Jody shakes her head:" No, not at all. I didn't see anything or anyone. We smelled nothing and the other churchgoer seemed pretty normal. We even talked to a few of them after the mass."
Eve is still sitting in front of the couch on the floor. It seems like she zoned out, her gaze gets right through Jody without seeing her.
"Eve?" I call out her name, but she doesn't give any reaction. Before I can bend down to her, she falls backward and her body starts to tremble again. Her eyes are rolled back into her head when I reach her, trying to hold her through the attack so she won't hurt herself.
Jody and Claire jump up and Jody asks:" What is wrong with her?"
"Nothing, at least I guess so."
"You guess?" Jody's eyes are wide, shocked seeing Eve lying on the floor.
Before anyone could do anything more than stare, Eve's body gets calm again. Slowly she opens her eyes.
"Hey, Sunshine," I greet her," are you ok?"
She touches her face, she looks exhausted:" I think so, yes."
"Where have you been?"
"The cave again."
"Cave?" Jody asks and I help Eve get up again, sitting her down in one armchair.
I look at Jody:" The last time this happened, Eve had something like a vision."
Surprised, Jody sits back down while I kneel in front of Eve.
"Tell us." I please her.
"It was pretty dark and we made our way downwards."
"We?"
She nods:" Yeah, I saw you, Sam and Eileen. Your faces were blurry, but I know it was you."
I glance over to them, seeing Sam gesturing the words to Eileen.
"You went ahead and we followed you." Eve goes on.
"But you still don't know where this is?"
"No, there wasn't anything to see. Maybe next time."
"Next time?" Jody still seems so surprised, she is almost screaming.
"Calm down, Jody," I say to her.
"Calm down? Your girlfriend had something like a seizure in my living room. And you are talking about the next time?"
"Wasn't as bad as the first time," Eve replies," I'm just tired."
"So, you are something like a medium?" Claire asks.
"I don't know. I never even considered angels could do that. But my father told me he gave me something like a power, maybe that's it." Eve shrugs her shoulders." We need to find out where this cave is or, even better, the ark."
Jody turns to her, pouting her lips and asks:" Ok, guys, what the hell are you talking about?"
We really haven't told her, so we give Jody and Claire all the information we have so far. We also describe what happened in the Club, the night hound and, of course, what kind of creature Jesse is.
When we finish, she gets up:" I need a drink."
She vanishes in the kitchen for a few aeconds and hands everyone a beer.
"So, the next apocalypse is right in front of us?" she asks.
"We are not sure yet. Jesse doesn't want the earth, but we don't know what consequences his action may have."
Jody takes a deep breath before she says:" Well, whatever he wants, we still need to eat, right?" and she leaves the room and we hear her rummaging through the kitchen. We start to talk about this and that and I see Eve leaving the room too. I follow her with my eyes and see she speaks with Jody. Whatever Eve said, Jody smiles and nods. Then she gives Eve directions and they both start to prepare dinner. I feel myself smiling at the sight of her in the kitchen. And how easy she gets along with everyone she meets.
Claire nudges my shoulder and draws my attention to her.
"She is really not like the others," Claire murmurs and it's not a question.
I shake my head, chuckling:" No, she isn't"
"You chose well." Claire replies and all I can say is:" No, she chose me." and when the words leave my lips, I acknowledge how cheesy that sounds. My face snaps to Claire and I can see her smiling massively.
"If you tell anyone, I said that I have to kill you."
"Of course," she answers, rolling her eyes and getting up to join the others in the kitchen.
After dinner, Sam and Ellen withdraw from us and head up to their room. The rest of us make a comfy place in the living room to watch a movie and drink some more beer. Later on, I want Eve to go to bed with me, but Jody and Claire complain.
"No, let her stay," Claire pouts," we want to hear your secrets."
Eve looks confused and says:" There are no secrets, we told you everything we know."
"Please," I say to Claire and Jody," hold back with phrases, she doesn't get them."
"Ok, sorry. Eve, we would like to get to know you better," Jody states to her," and we would like you to stay and have another drink."
"Oh, I would love that. Is that ok with you?" she asks me."
I snort, answering:" Sure, you are old enough," I kiss her lips quickly," just wake me up when you come to bed."
She nods and sits back again at the couch, her legs angled.
"Good night, ladies." and I head upstairs, hearing Jody asking:" So, Eve, you and Dean?"
Grinning, I step up further, I don't want to spy. Of course, I want to know what she tells, but I trust her, she won't tell what I wouldn't tell as well.
Laying in bed without Eve by my side is already a bizarre feeling. I got used to her beside me very fast. I can't even remember what it felt like before her. But knowing she will be joining me in maybe a few hours, let me fall asleep peacefully.
I wake up in the middle of the night because Eve still hasn't woken me up and the other side of the bed is still empty. I pull on my jeans and make my way downstairs. Stepping down, I recognize how quiet the house is. If the women were still sitting in the living room, I could hear them. The lights are shining slightly over the steps and when I enter the room, I find it empty. I go to the kitchen, empty. The lump in my throat starts to grow and with big steps, I head back upstairs, crashing into Claire's room. It's empty as well.
"No, no, come on," I grunt, opening Jody's door a little more carefully, but she isn't there either.
"That can't be happening." I go back to our room, start calling all the numbers, one after the other, but no one answers the phone. Then I close my eyes, praying to Eve, pleading, she will come back, wherever she is. But when I open my eyes again, she isn't there.
Ok, now I start to get nauseous. I go back down, knocking Sam's door almost down. Sleepy, he opens:" What?"
"They are gone, they are all gone. Get dressed!" and before he can even say another word, I head down. I look outside to see that Jody's car is gone. Where the heck have they gone in the middle of the night? In the middle of the week.
I hear Sam coming down, yawning:" Dean, when this is some overreaction like the last time...."
"It's not. All three are gone. No one answered the phones, I prayed to Eve, but nothing. Jody's car is gone."
I rip the main door open, wanting to jump into my car, but Sam stops me.
"Where do you want to go? We don't know what happened."
"I don't care, I will just search for them."
"Dean, that doesn't make sense. Think before you act."
Behind Sam, I see Eileen coming down too.
"What's up?" She asks, looking back and forth between Sam and me.
Sam tells her shortly and she looks worried too.
"This isn't Jody-like, right? Vanishing without telling you?"
"Definitely not." I shut the door, pacing through the room.
"Ok, let me get my stuff real quick," Sam says and gets upstairs.
I grab my bag, which was placed behind the front door, and have a look if it's complete. The guns are loaded and all the knives are inside the duffle bag.
Sam comes back, placing bowls and other stuff on the table.
"Locator spell," he explains and he places a hairbrush next to a bowl," that's Jody's. When they are together, we will find them in a second."
"Rowena teaches you well," I say and wait for Sam to complete the spell. At last, he lights up a map of the town until just a tiny piece remains. We all bend over to see the location.
We share a look and I say it out loud:" The church."
"But, that doesn't make sense," Sam replies," what are they doing there?"
"Guess we will find out," I already shoulder my bag, ready to head out," what are you waiting for?"
Sam glances at Eileen and she suspects what he wants from her:" Go, I will stay here in case they come home."
"Thank you," Sam answers and gives her a quick kiss. I nod at her and then Sam and I drive away as fast as we can.
