Evangeline's POV
Dean and I lived a good life. A life full of ups and downs.
We saw our kids growing into adults, aware of what the world was like before they were born. I am glad they didn't have to carry the burden of hunting life, just like Dean and Sam had to. When they were old enough, we explained where their father came from and why there were so many weird things in our house. Like the demo trap under the rug in the entrance. Even Dean knew, he didn't have to expect any demon, he couldn't change the way he was raised and how he grew up. We had salt in every room, just for the case. I let him be, he always said he can sleep better when he is prepared. But never once we heard again of any monster, ghost or demon.
After Celeste was born, we figured out what kind of gift Jack gave me. Even if I wasn't an angel anymore, he left me the gift of healing, at least for common injuries, like a cut on the finger or when the kids broke their bones. And that happened a lot, since Celeste and her brother Robert grew up at Dean's Workshop. We needed to let the kids promise not to tell anyone outside the family, but even if they ever mentioned it, I guess no one believed them.
Both of them still lived near us when they moved out. Celeste became a cop, like her aunts Donna and Jody. And Robert opened up a bookstore. The love for books he got from me and his uncle Sam. They are both married and live their lives with our grandkids. I couldn't be happier about them.
When Dean and I were in our 80's, I someday felt our end was getting nearer. Dean had struggled with his body more and more in the last months. His memory wasn't as good as it used to be, even though he still never left a joke unspoken. One day in September, he couldn't get up anymore. I gathered the family to say their goodbyes. Our kids were heartbroken, as our grandkids. I sat down with them all at Deans' side of the bed and told them for the last time, how their grandpa and I fell in love. While they never believed, I was an angel, they still loved the tale.
After they bid their goodbyes to Dean and me as well, I laid down beside him. I never wanted to be on this earth without him, and now it was time to leave this place. We hugged each other and shared our last kiss on this earth, before Dean closed his eyes and fell into sleep that would never end. A single tear fell from my eye before I leaned back, taking my last breath.
When my consciousness returned, I found myself in the garden of our house. I looked down at myself, seeing my hands were unwrinkled again and I noticed I was dressed in my wedding dress. I turn and spot Dean coming out of the backdoor, also dressed like the day we married.
We reached out to each other, and finally we touched our faces, to stare at each other shortly before we kissed.
"You look so young," I say, laughing and Dean chuckles.
"I loved you with all the wrinkles, too," he answers.
"Me too." We kissed again, just like when we were going on earth. And now it was time to start out After Life together. Our eternity in heaven.
