You Are My Wildest Dream

Hi!!!!! This is my first story, so I felt it best to do a small introduction to it and to really just say hi :-).

Ciao, I'm Rowan (is that my real name?). I'm sat here in my chair on the patio, looking out onto Lake Como as the sun sets, feeling all the love that has come and gone in my life. My queer identity is a huge part of my expression/art and motivates me creatively for things I have yet to do. On the bigger scale, it's not always represented as large as I'd like it to be. I have ideas for songs, music videos, stories, and movies. Queer love, lust, infatuation, and crushes. I want the highs, the lows, the tears, the tenderness, and I want it shown as frequently as the "boy meets girl" ones. I know you do too, that might be the reason you're here, right?

This is a Taylor Swift-inspired queer story, so you can say it's fanfiction, but also not, since the pair are original characters in the story. To me, since Taylor doesn't identify as queer, it only felt right to have a character with a different name, yet still be extremely similar to her. Even the whole story itself is centered around Hannah (our Taylor-inspired character) filming a music video for Wildest Dreams, except obviously the lyrics to Wildest Dreams are different, too, since "Hannah" wrote them. All of 1989 in this fictional world is GAYYYYY. So, it's 1989 (Hannah's Version).

This is just my personal ideology for my own story! I also read Taylor fan fiction, so it's not a jab at anyone else's views on this subject :-), but I will add that I do think if using someone's name, a disclaimer is important at the start of a story as a note of respect for someone like Taylor Swift, who is in fact a real person with real feelings. I believe fan fiction can help others, both readers and writers safely explore a topic at hand through some of their favorite people, whether that be discovering sexuality, healing from something, working through life, or just general relatability found inside the fictional tale!
