Luella JonesMost of the car ride with Harry has been silent, the only sound coming is from the radio, filling the empty air around us.
The few words we've exchanged are just directions to where my house is, nothing more.
During this time, I've calmed my nerves down, convincing myself he isn't a serial killer plotting my murder on the way there, or for that matter, the murder of my entire family.
I think it's starting to rain a little bit, I can see the droplets of water on the window racing.
I hope it does, I'd love to watch it from the car, it'd help a lot. Plus, who doesn't love a little rain?
I feel eyes on me, turning my head to look at how Harry's already staring at me.
Oh shit, maybe he is actually planning on killing me.
I swallow, now breaking our silence as I speak up. "So, how many cars do you have?" I ask, trying to make a conversation.
His dad is either rich as hell, or he just has a good job because of the amount of cars I've seen him with.
"Too many to count." He shrugs, simply answering as he turns the wheel to the left, opening his mouth to speak up again.
"You got some obsession with cars now, nerd?" He questions.
I shake my head. "Oh no, I just see you with a different one everyday, so I assumed you have a lot." I barely know anything about cars, it's not something that interests me.
"How observant of you." He pouts, turning his head to look back at the road.
I turn to the window again as thoughts consume my head for the second time.
"Thank you, by the way." I state. He furrows his eyebrows, not understanding why I thanked him, so I decide to elaborate.
"If it weren't for you, I'd probably be passed out in a stranger's bedroom right now."
He stays silent for a second, putting his pointer finger and thumb between his lower lip.
"Wouldn't your boyfriend be upset over the fact you're in another man's car right now?" He changes the subject over to me now.
My boyfriend?
Oh right, shit.
"Um- no, he uh- he trusts me, it's fine." I say, playing with the hem of my dress.
"That's good, trust is important." I nod at his words, still trying to avoid eye contact with him.
"Yeah well, everyone should trust their partner in a relationship, don't you think?" I tell him, watching him through the corner of my eye as I see him roll his tongue on the inside of his cheek.
He turns to the right now, heading towards the block where I live.
"Is this your house?" He changes the subject again, completely ignoring what I just said.
"Yeah, right there." I point out to Fiona's, not wanting to tell him where I actually live, also because I need to change my clothes before entering mine, making him turn to park in front of Fiona's house.
I open the car door, the sound of the rain getting heavy now.
I stare at the ground for a second, watching the rain droplets fall on the ground in awe.
I look back at him, feeling the need to thank him again. "Thanks for the ride, Harry." I smile a little bit at him.
"You're welcome, nerd." He says, his lips falling to a flat line as I shut the door, walking up to the front of the house in a slow pace because of both my boots, and wanting to feel the water on my body more.
