"Iris! Wake up! I need you to take care of the bacon!" Petunia screamed from the other side of Iris's bedroom. Iris shot up from her sleep and got dressed quickly. She had probably 10 minutes until her little brother woke up, and if he beat her to the cupboard, he would wake up Harry in the most unpleasant way possible. She opened the door to the room under the stairs.

"Harry! Wake up. Aunt Petunia is in a bad mood, probably because of the dinner party tonight. Get up before she gets you!" She said the last part as a joke since he was 6. Harry groaned and eventually got up as Iris turned on the lights. The two cousins walked into the kitchen and Iris took care of the bacon. She counted down 5 minutes, and as she finished, her brother and father came in. Dudley was a younger version of Vernon, very similar. Iris shook her head when they sat down at the table and demanded their food. Harry got the plates and Iris put the food on them. Under Dursley's rules, Harry was to receive less food than the rest. Iris usually took some of her leftovers and gave them to Harry, after she accidentally tripped on one of Dudley's toy cars and spilled everything in her hands from a trip to the fridge. Petunia has been suspicious since then, and seemed to be taking count of how much food is put in and out of the fridge.

"Now before I leave for work," Vernon said catching everyone's attention. "I want to go over the plan for tonight." Harry groaned, earning him a warning glare from both Iris and Vernon. Iris herself wanted to complain as well, but she kept her little comments to herself. "Right, the Hetly's are coming over tonight, and if this dinner goes well, I will get a promotion. I want everything to go well, unlike the last dinner parties we've had." He gave a little glance at Harry. Iris cringed when she recalled the memory. Harry was about 3, and how would you expect a three-year-old to stay quiet alone? Thing is, you can't.

"This time, I want Iris to take care of Harry in your room. I have told the Hetly's that you are at a friend's house, but in reality, I want you up there with him. If so much as a sound comes from up there, there will be consequences." The blond girl sighed. "Alright father, we will keep quiet. If we do, will Harry be allowed to celebrate my birthday with us tomorrow?" She asked sweetly. Vernon gave her a sour face but thought about it nonetheless. "If you do keep quiet, I will allow it." Iris's mood rose significantly, and she started the dishes right away without much complaint. Harry too, was in a good mood and started the chores. Vernon left for work, leading Dudley to go up to his room doing whatever he was doing.

"Has your father already left?" Petunia said, rushing into the kitchen in a mess. Iris supposed she was cleaning the bathroom, but this time her mother seemed to have taken it to the next level. Iris nodded. "Oh, I've missed him! Never mind, at least that's one thing out of my way." Harry snorted but covered it up with a fake cough. It was very rare for Petunia to talk behind Vernon's back, it only happened when she was frustrated.

"After you're done the dishes, I want both of you outside. Boy, I want you to cut the grass, while Iris you will water the plants and trim the bushes. After you're done with the lawn boy, I want you to bring out the chairs and table, don't drop anything or you won't find meals tomorrow." And she rushed out of the kitchen to tackle the foyer. They hastily finished up with the dishes and rushed out to the garden. Iris felt bad for Harry, doing so much more work than she had to. She quickly watered the plants and tried the bushes. It was rather nice considering the effort she put in. Then she walked over to Harry, and look the lawnmower from him. "Harry, you go sit over there and eat this," She handed him a granola bar which she stole from Dudley's room. Harry looked at it confused. "Why? Aunt Petunia will kill you if she saw that you were doing it!' Iris's heart fluttered a bit at Harry's concern. "Don't worry Harry, you've done enough." She looked at the beads of sweat on his forehead.

"Besides, you're only 6, you deserve to take it easy." Harry gave in and ate silently on the grass. Iris got a damp towel and put it on the back of her neck, before resuming Harry's work. After that was done, Iris and Harry both went into the shed and carried out the chairs and tables. Petunia also ordered them to change the vases inside the house. They decided to gather all the vases into the kitchen, and from there they exchanged the flowers into the newer vases. "Harry be careful with that one, it's right by your elbow," Iris said softly, trying not to startle the boy and get him to knock over the vase. Unfortunately, he turned around rapidly to see which one she was talking about. "What v-?" His elbow crashed straight into the glass container. Iris's heart stopped working, as she watched the vase fall in slow motion. She outstretched her hands out of habit. As it was an inch off the ground, it stopped. Iris's breathed in air like it was the first time in a century. Harry stood there frozen, confused and frightened about what was happening. Iris seemed to have come to her senses. The vase was floating? The front door opened, scaring Iris and letting the vase drop. Thank goodness it was so close to the ground, it only chipped a small piece which Iris hid in the garbage.
